Perhaps because he's better outside. If you look at his performance in 2017, he was better outside than he was in the slot.
From where I was watching, he was just used in simple cover three when outside all of the time and he does that just fine, but let’s not kid ourselves into thinking he’s a full-time CB. You have to do better than that in today’s game. He is right where he belongs in the role he had last season as Pagano’s NB.
Ah but then I can watch highlights of our draft picks while I chug kool-aid much earlier! I'll be drunk on kool-aid if I can do it for six months! Declare everyone future hall of famers and scour youtube daily for more highlights.

I'm enjoying the XFL so far. Some of the games in particular have been mighty fun to watch. I suspect some of these guys will be on NFL teams this fall. A few anyway.
