“MATT NAGY WAS NOT BROUGHT IN TO RUN THE I-FORMATION AND MITCH TRUBISKY POTENTIALLY WAS BROUGHT IN TO RUN THE I-FORMATION. I THINK THAT’S WHERE THE MISCOMMUNICATION IS.”

This is very interesting to read. To hear this from a guy who played in both systems and is intelligent enough to say it in a way that most fans can understand.
I wonder if Long has the coaching bug or just keep using his personality and get on TV. I would love to hear him and Howie argue back and forth about teams and their chances. "The football Long style show" or something like that. Hell get the whole Fam on it.

And Mitch played so well in that offense. Are people actually pining for the Fox days? This board was nothing but complaints about the "backwards" offense the hobbit was running.
In an ideal world John Fox would have been let go a year earlier and the new HC (Nagy) allowed to have input on who got drafted to run the new scheme (including but not limited to the QB position). We've seen what the Kansas City offense scheme can do when it has the right players. But the Bears offense doesn't have anything close to that skill level on the O roster.
I believe Nagy has tried his best to help Mitch. Sure he's made mistakes but Nagy does have a point here. If we wanted a John Fox and Loggains offense, then why hire him? Just keep John Fox.
Matt Nagy wants an O like we just saw winning the Super Bowl. That's Nagy's offense & his background. But we have very little roster wise to help Nagy attain that vision for the Bears. I believe Nagy can get it done here if Ryan Pace can feed him the required talent.
I mean, it's not rocket science. Take away guys like Kelce, and plug in Shaheen, replace Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins with Miller and Robinson - and take away Mahomes for Trubisky - and then take their #4 ranked pass blocking OL and give them our OL who couldn't block my grandma - well, that IS a problem for Nagy here.
I don't think it's as simple as going back to the John Fox and Loggains offense. I mean, does anyone here really want to see that? I don't. Any scheme has to have a baseline of talent.
In an ideal world, we would not have hired John Fox. But then Nagy wouldn't have been available - or desired or even known about - then. Yes, it's obvious Mitch and Nagy don't mesh on the field. I believe Mitch is a good guy, a good QB and has the drive, desire, and potential. But he doesn't match Nagy's system, Nagy isn't - or can't - make the adjustments, and the team doesn't have the weapons or the blocking to help Mitch succeed.
The outFoxed Logjam offense? Heck no, nobody wants that. But that system, if properly done, might be more beneficial to Mitch than what Nagy is trying to run simply because it fits Mitch better.
In any case, as long as Nagy and Mitch can learn and improve, and Pace gets more better talent, we should be on the right track. I don't see any reason why we can't win with those three, and a good TEAM.
