I feel the Bears should waste a high pick on a QB. He can sit behind Trubs and we can fill other spots if need be. I don't expect them to be in the Super bowl next year anyways, might as well grab a QB and start the process again. Why wait for the following year.

That's the debate going on right now with the fanbase.
Those taking the opposite position will say:
We don't have a 1st round pick this year so not likely to get a good QB anyway
Bears D is still good enough to have an open window in 2020 if the O can get back to mid-tier
Trubisky can still turn things around with an improved surrounding cast
You may disagree with that of course, just stating the arguments.
I also think there's another dynamic at play here--Ryan Pace wants to save his job. So he has every incentive to try to win in 2020 and every incentive to make his Trubisky-pick look as good as possible. Drafting a 2nd round QB for instance would be a de facto admission of failure on his part.

I come down on the side of use one of the seconds on a QB. I feel Mitch is 60-70% the problem with the OFF. Fix the QB position and everything else will look better. All the vet QBs are stop gap measures at best. If I could get one for vet min, I might, repeat might, go with Mitch and the vet, with Mitch on a short leash.

But I'm not Pace.
Be interesting to see what happens. If there's a QB there in the 2nd that truly looks promising (Carr and Garoppolo were both 2nd rounders), I have no problem with taking a shot at him. I just don't want Pace to waste a 2nd round pick on a Geno Smith or Deshone Kizer (also 2nd rounders) type of prospect who busts in short order.

Well that is the problem. You never know until they play. Look at Minshew. He played lights out some of those games.
There really should be a farm team league out there for NFLers to work out their kinks.
FA this year is going to be so interesting due to the Bears having critical needs and not so much money to meet those needs in FA. Any player we now have that is solid, and we cut, is going to add yet another need. I understand the financial challenges that come with keeping players this year, but we have so many needs already that I hate to see us letting good people walk. It may be necessary but I hate to see it.

I understand that perfectly JABF but you don't want to hamstring yourself by committing 13.2M to Floyd eventhough it is only a 1 year deal. If you retain Floyd it has to be 2-3M cheaper at a minimum.

I found this link that mentioned there is an inside source that says the Bears will be making a lot of cuts. No particular names are mentioned but the Mockery staff assembled a few names. I thought I would post this here to talk about.
