I think they believe that they have a #1 Robinson and a #2 Miller. Ridley and Wins are going to enter prove it territory next season.
As such, I thank if they draft a WR it will be a project with speed later in the draft
Of course, having typed all this out, watch Pace draft two in the second.
the problem is Miller cannot stay healthy and has had problems learning/running routes and instead trying to freelance. and as you said, they have no speed. Riley/Wims are imo depth guys for ARob/Miller, could be completely wrong there.
Love is a guy that isn't ready to start, needs 1-2 years...we have Foles for...1-2 years Claypool is big fast(sub 4.5) and a 50-50 guy, something Foles needs Albert I took only b/c he's almost always there at the top of the 2nd and gone by the time I pick 2nd, good valu Fuller is a guy that likely is nickle/dime package that can go against TE's Garvin is broken down in the mock I did on pg 19 no idea bout OG/DT/OT w/the pick 6's, couldn't find anything on them but they were the only real names at positions of need.
okay so all of the sim's are inaccurate w/our draft picks so I'm going to manually pull one out of my ass. Bears draft picks per nbc sports rd 2 43 and 50 no 3 no 4(lost comp for Foles) rd 5 142 and 156 *we have 3 top 150 picks and 2 top 100 cry* rd 6 177 and 181 rd 7 211
Looking at this team they need, in order, starting #2 WR, starting S, backup/rotational OLB and ILB, backup rotational OT/OG, then just general depth everywhere, and if someone falls a developmental qb
43: Jalen Reagor WR TCU 5'11" 206lbs sub 4.5 40. www.nfl.com/prospects/jalen-reagor?id=32195245-4133-8982-9a32-957d59a1e153 Reagor is a smooth athlete with blazing speed who has more playmaking talent than receiver skill and play-callers need to account for that when determining how to utilize him. He's electric with the ball in his hands so getting it to him quickly rather than asking him to consistently make plays for himself as a ball-winner could be crucial. **Kind of sounds the part of what Nagy wants, speed, and yac/playmaker. He'll need to clean up his route running from the sounds of it, but what the team lacks and needs he has.
50: John Simpson OG Clemson 6'4" 321 lbs www.nfl.com/prospects/john-simpson?id=32195349-4d53-5559-6e58-1567c1c85840 Teams looking to add physicality up front will covet Simpson, but keep in mind he was plenty effective with scoop blocks, pulls, second-level climbs and even screen blocking, which shows the big man can move. **Just like the team needed competition for QB, the team NEEDS to find a starting OG, assuming Alex Bars can just step in when he couldn't find the field last year makes finding a OG important. No starting S's worth a damn so I kicked it down the road, the Bears might regret doing that in FA.
142: Julian Blackmon S Utah 6' 187 www.nfl.com/prospects/julian-blackmon?id=3219424c-4128-3027-fdc4-2c27128f84f7 The former cornerback has soft hands and carryover route-anticipation that should allow him to match against tight ends as a pro. He can play split safety, big nickel or help support the run as a down safety. **This was his first year as as S and it will take some more time to get experienced but he has Jackson and a good coaching staff to quickly get caught up
156: Jonathan Garvin OLB Miami(FLA) 6'4" 263 www.nfl.com/prospects/jonathan-garvin?id=32194741-5273-1639-14f1-ac687272b120 Traits-based edge defender capable of playing 4-3 end or 3-4 rush linebacker. Garvin's strong 2018 was followed up with inconsistent effort and an inability to stamp his presence on games with much consistency. He gains depth upfield quickly and is fairly natural at defeating the punch and flipping the corner. **Needs to learn effort, and how to maximize his athletism but who better to learn from then Mack/Quinn?
177: Robert Hunt RT Louisiana-Lafayette 6'5" 323lbs www.nfl.com/prospects/robert-hunt?id=32194855-4e36-0894-8461-dd1b950e2536 Hunt is a plus athlete with a big man's frame who could be considered at guard or tackle. Inconsistent footwork and pad level are the primary culprits when he fails to win the rep, but there aren't any physical limitations that should prevent him from improving in both areas. **Not a yr 1 starter, but likely a yr 2, if he cannot do RT, could easily move to OG.
181: CJ O'Grady TE Arkansas 6'4" 253lb www.nfl.com/prospects/c.j.-o'grady?id=32194f47-5204-1528-4e96-c6588a4c43ad O'Grady is an intriguing athlete with NFL ball skills, but he catches a developmental label both on and off the field. **Sounds like the kid needs to learn how to be a pro on and off the field. But like Garvin, who better to learn from then Jimmy Graham?
211: Nick Coe 5 Tech 6'5" 280 lbs www.nfl.com/prospects/nick-coe?id=3219434f-4504-9912-298c-8b971f7b8218 Coe has the body type and natural power of an odd-front defensive end, but he needs to play with better anchor and feel for the blocking scheme in front of him. He flashes rugged tendencies, but needs to embrace that part of his game at the point of attack as he lacks the quickness and twitch to be a consistent playmaker or pass rusher. **Team needs some rotational depth at DT and this guy looks the part, he has RRH and Hicks to learn from while he adjusts as a backup
Someone mentioned in another thread about how not all drafts are the same, this draft proves it. The majority of this draft is hot garbage.
That's a nice use of resources, Really hits the nail on the head for us. I'd only add:
There is good talent in the heart of this draft (rounds 2-4) at positions the Bears could use depth (OT, WR, CB). I really really hope Pace makes a 2nd round trade down (or even two) to another pick or two. You can often find partners there and he's done it before several times. Very plausible to come out of this with 2-2nds + a 3rd or even 2-2nds + a 3rd + a 4th (or 2-4ths). I'd really like Pace to move down at least once.
Broken record time here but really would prioritize OT over OG in the 2nd round. This draft is rich in OT talent and a 2nd round OT could compete at RG this season before sliding/taking over at RT for Massie next year (nice cap savings by dumping him in 2021). Regardless, we really must get a quality OT prospect in the pipeline. It's long overdue.
I agree adding a TE should be a late round pick only now.
Really like a late DL. We need a depth pick to replace Nick Williams and Coward who used to be our developmental backups.
Would like to see Pace use a 5th-6th on a QB. He's be the Bray-replacement and developmental guy. We gotta start drafting QBs regularly even if they end up only backup-caliber (which most will). We can't keep paying many millions every year for backups.

Don't disagree at all. They need to add speed. I'm just wondering if the big brass views the WR room the same way we do. Personally, personally, I think the Wims experiment needs to be over. Cut bait and move on. Let Ridley move into Wims and draft speed.
Some O and D FA's that have been cut that could be a nice option & wouldn't count vs comp pick formula: - OL Ty Sambrailo - OT Cordy Glenn - OG Josh Kline - OG Mike Person - WR Paul Richardson - RB Dion Lewis
- OLB Anthony Chikillo - ILB Nigel Bradham - CB Trumaine Johnson - S Tony Jefferson - S Eric Reid - S Reshad Jones
I don't think he'd consider the Bears because we don't run the ball so much... and when we do it's behind a pitiful OL. If he is trying to prove himself in a one year deal situation, he should look for a team where he can put up numbers. That won't be here. I'm just thinking we'd be the last team he'd consider joining.
