Whitehair played mostly G in college and was moved to C in the NFL out of necessity.
Daniels played mostly C in college and was moved to G last year cuz Whitehair was established at C.
Really seemed logical to put them both in their natural positions this offseason with Heistand there to work it out. Sure doesn't look like it worked out too well.

logical yes, but was it the right move considering they were fine last year? That’s on the coaches.
I think this is a reasonable idea. It was also a good idea to bring in Rashaad Coward. I noticed Mitch having to reach for the ball when in the shotgun formation on Sunday. Daniels should deliver the ball better so Mitch can focus on running the offense. The OL has been a disappointment this year. I really have been questioning the value of Heistand. He was supposed to develop the line and we have certainly regressed this season.

Putting aside Trubisky, I think that's something we all can agree upon. HH has been a major disappointment, especially after being so hyped in the offseason. I look at like this (and I'm gonna ignore 1st rounder Kyle Long here because injuries caught up to him):
The OL returned 4 starters from last year (5 before Long was IR'd) 2 were pro-bowlers 1 was a priority FA who was the best OT FA this year 2 were 2nd round, highly touted prospects
Point I'm trying to make is that this isn't like the late Angelo era when the OL was neglected. The Bears have made substantial investments there. This unit is underperforming its talent level and yeah that really makes you question WTF is going on with the OL coach.

Does anyone think HH is a poor fit for our line? Pace has drafted a bunch of smaller athletic guys to play an outside zone scheme. Bears don't seem to be going that route anymore.
