I agree it's a no-brainer. We need so much in this draft, and we only have 2 picks in the 2nd round (the only picks we have in the entire first four rounds of this draft). We need to upgrade QB, OL & TEs as just a start. We are probably one year from having to hire a new HC too. While I was thrilled with the Mack acquisition, I now see that the Super Bowl window will not be open until he is in his declining years (at best) here. We'll go through the endless cycle of futility. Eventually the team will move on from another failed QB (Trubisky) and the "new guy" will need time to be "developed" and maybe (if we are lucky like that old blind squirrel proverb) we will finally get the new kid up to speed in a few years for a SB run. In the meantime we will have Pace (the smartest guy in the room ya know) missing on draft picks trying to draft TEs and OL help to help the new guy. More years pissed away. It's what the Bears do. Years come and go. Decades come and go. No Super Bowl win... but maybe we can beat the lowly Detroit Lions of Sunday. One can hope anyway.
Yes and Pace would get bonus points if he could work it out to cut and bring back Sowell in the same series of personnel changes..
Hahaha!
You know, I think I was wrong about Sowell's name. It's not that he plays "So Well", but that he mentally takes the repeated cuttings and signing So Well.
