Its getting about the time that some nice pieces could become available due to roster cuts. I'm not talking about "dumpster diving", but there could be some nice accents that come available.
I agree. This is the respect cut time. Decent organizations are starting to have those tough conversations with veteran players. If they let them go now, they still have a heads up on the mass exodus coinciding with the first official cut market.
good thing about Stork is that he can play every position except LT, so he must be athletic... but, if Billy cut him not sure Fox would take him
Versatility is the key. If he can work as a backup center and swing guard he has a lot of value. The next question: does he fit our blocking scheme(s).
Fortunately, we spent three days practicing with this group of players so we should have a really good idea of whether he'll fit.
Pace will pull the trigger if it makes sense.
exactly Bell, it def. sounds good on paper. I really like guys like him on OL
Isn't this the guy that got into a fight with us at patriot practice? I think he has a history of that. If he can get his head straight, try him.
Dats da guy.
I guess he had a Personal Foul for head butting in the AFC CG that was pretty costly. Honestly, I don't mind my O-Linemen having an edge/attitude to them, but man, ya can't be stupid. Unfortunately, beggars can't be choosers and with Grasu going down and Larson being a bit of a "?" himself, he could be a solid option. I guess we'll wait and see. He has to clear waivers unless the waiver wire makes it to us.
That would be my concern as well. We all know by now that Belicheat doesn't cut useful players period but he also has a very short fuse with those who won't fit into his profile of a Pats type player. The last thing we need is another Richie Incognito type who can play OK but can't keep his head and turns a productive play into a 15 yard loss due to a PF flag.
Besides we've already signed Khaled Holmes for OC and Silatolu for OG so how many more guys do we bring in before we just start focusing on getting a starting five ready to play in September. They need reps together to get the "dance down" and you can't get that when you're running in too many prospects to try out. Larsen looked OK last week and I believe Long will be fine after a short rest to his shoulder.
So if all were doing now is shifting some guys around to get them reps in order to prepare them for an emergency if needed it seems to me we have enough bodies to do that with now that Silatolu is off the PUP. Knowing the blocking scheme and being able to execute it is just as important as talent. You can't bring in a QB at the last minute and expect him to know your offense or an OC and expect him to know all the proper line calls for your blocking scheme.
Quick plan would be poach Stork and have him play RG while Long heals and keep Rocky Balboa at center where he has 2 PS games under center with Cutler.
Seems reasonable with Longs uncertainty. I like it!
We are thin and I can think of many worse choices. I can't think of too many better that are actually available. Why not?
And he isn't any longer either. They traded him to the Skins for a conditional 7th. Now Stork says he may retire. Probably good we passed. He doesn't sound real mentally stable to me.

Interesting.... wonder if he just did not want to go through DC. There are worse places but not many.
