For those keeping score at home on Bradley Sowell's status... this may be vital info for you! (pulled from espn.com):
11 November 2019 Signed TE Bradley Sowell. **Must be an omission of being released somewhere here. 4 November 2019 Signed TE Bradley Sowell. 2 November 2019 Released TE Bradley Sowell. 9 October 2019 Re-signed TE Bradley Sowell. 5 October 2019 Released TE Bradley Sowell. 1 October 2019 Signed TE Bradley Sowell. 28 September 2019 Waived TE Bradley Sowell. 26 September 2019 Signed TE Bradley Sowell. 23 September 2019 Waived TE Bradley Sowell.
I don't believe there was an ommission.
I think the Bears simply forgot if he was cut or not, and just re-signed him out of force of habit.
"Brad, great that you could make it. Come on in and let's get you back on the team,"
"I thought I was still on the team,"
"Sign right here and you can get your old locker back,"
" I never emptied my locker. I've been at practice all week. Did you cut me?"
"Haha, what? No. But, just to make sure, let's just sign right here and make it all offical,"
Bradley Sowell is entering his third season with the Bears. But when he arrived at training camp in Bourbonnais last month, he felt like a stranger.
Having shed 35 pounds during the offseason as part of his transition from offensive tackle to tight end, Sowell walked past some coaches and teammates without being recognized. Even his wife, Jessica, had trouble spotting him at practice—and not only because he no longer was wearing jersey No. 79.
“When I got back, it was hilarious, people not recognizing me,” Sowell said. “My wife couldn’t find me and a bunch of other players’ wives were saying they had to look on the roster to see who No. 85 was. I can’t tell because I see myself every day, but looking from afar, people say I look totally different.”
Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy have revolutionized the NFL with the "Sowell Model" of building a roster with the proper level of talent. It all began last summer when they shocked the NFL world by building a great TE unit - through weight control.
Now they are using the "Sowell Model" to build the worlds best NFL kicker. G.O.A.T. but only if Sowell can lose more weight.
Nagy announced that the plan is for Sowell to lose another 100 pounds and take over kicker duties from Eddy P. next year. They have him on a strict "broccoli and bean sprouts diet" of 300 calories a day. Ryan Pace is thrilled with the plan and stated Sowell is the prototype for the team rebuilding effort that begins in 2020. Pace is convinced that we will no longer need draft picks if we adopt the "Sowell Model" and simply take ordinary people and get them at the "right weight" for each position. Anyone off the street can play ANY Bears position at a high level - if - their weight is correct. Pace can give away all of our remaining draft picks now, due to the fact they are obsolete in a "Sowell Model" franchise.
On a side note, Pace acknowledged that Trubisky hasn't worked out but blamed it on his weight. If they can get Mitch to exactly 225 pounds (Tom Brady's playing weight) we will have the G.O.A.T. quarterback here in Chicago. Mitch doesn't have to learn the massive Nagy playbook, but simply needs to eat more high-calorie food.
I am so relieved with this news. And we have Bradley Sowell to thank.

OMG, JABF, I refluxed coffee up my nose that was so funny. Wow....clown schools can be funny!
"For next weeks game against New York we will be swapping Mitch Trubisky and Eddy Piniero"
"We think it instantly upgrades two positions. They've looked really good in practice"

LOLLOLOLOL!!!
but what do we do with cohen?if he loses any more weight he'll disappear into thin air. although that might help, cuz then the defenses won't be able to see him at all, just a football levitating down the field.
The Bears just elevated Jesper Horsted to the active roster. This will cut into Brad's playing time.
LOL
Zero divided half
+1,000
I had to Google the guy because I couldn't remember who the heck the guy was. Old Jesper will not be saving our TE unit anytime soon. LOL. Just when you think the clown show couldn't get any worse you read something like this. A "converted" WR from the mighty Princeton University - brought on to the 53-man roster to play TE. On the Bears web site it says (seriously) "Earned All-Ivy League honorable mention" as a WR. So obviously he will be a solid Bears TD. You just can't make stuff like this up... LOL, do you think they did the old "Sowell Model" thing with poor "All-Ivy League Honorable Mention WR" Jesper - and fattened him up to play TE? I picture Halas Hall cooking up Mrs McCaskey's pasta recipes and making poor Jesper eat a 10,000 calorie a day diet.

I think you're under-estimating this move, JABF.
When the mighty Jesper-Mitch juggernaut is launched, utilizing Nagy's vaunted "Sowell-package" of genius trick plays, it's gonna go for 196 recs, 3852 yards, and 18 TDs over the next 6 games.
I just have a good feeling in my bones about this.
