a kicker bears some responsibility for tipped kicks in many cases. one missed kick hurts, esp. when it ends the season. this isn't a fluke, this kicker consistently hooks fg attempts.

Can you prove that with some facts beyond this year?
Not trying to be confrontational lol that might be a hard thing to prove, but i'm just asking.
It just wouldn't make sense in relation to the Eagles formation...Yellow = Hook...Red = Slice
They line up more for someone who slices or kicks left to right more often from that position on the field...but i've been wrong before lol
After all the tweets and death threats he got from "fans", I'm hoping Pace brings him back for another year just to piss them off.
Seriously, **** these guys. How miserable does your life have to be to react that way?
I agree, some people need to get a life. Every fan base has a lunatic fringe. But it's a tiny minority. At least I want to believe that most Bears fans are better than that.

Pattrick Mannely was on the score and he said the reason it was tipped was b/c Parkey lined up wrong and kicked it to shallow; but it was going to be good if it wasn't tipped. He said the tip moved the ball about 2-3 yards off where it would have gone. No one in the media is better at talking about the kicks then PM is so I'll take his word on it.

So what you're saying is... that once again Parkey ruin it for us?

Did he elaborate on how he was lined up wrong? He's semi promoting Gould on his Twitter, so that always makes me skeptical of actual truth being told.
Not saying he is wrong, and i surely have more faith in truth coming from people with his past and present jobs...but even those people can be biased or get butt-hurt like many have over that kick lol

I would take Mannely's word for it, but to be honest, now that the season is over, it is time to review every player's season - the entire body-of-work. That kick was one play. Just like the defense fell short on that 1 series. Both hurt. But Pace and the coaches will review the entire season's body of work to get a balanced and true evaluation of the players. That's as it should be. Parkey's season was shaky. The Bears will have to make a decision on the position in the off-season, but it won't be based (obviously) on 1 play. If Mannely is correct and this was just one more mistake by Parkey, then that is probably 1 more nail in his coffin. I could be wrong though.

i didn't hear all of the interview. so i don't know all the details, he just said he knew from the minute he lined up. Actually he gave some confidence in him, saying as the year went on he seemed to think that parkey was learning how to kick in SF and knowing to aim at the goalposts in 3rds based on the how the wind is blowing; even mentioned that hte wind is bad in SF even when it isn't windy, didn't go into that either.
