Should Parkey be cut, even tho it will be a $4-mill cap hit?

I posted this in the other thread but maybe it belongs here. FWIW:
First of all, I was wrong about that Parkey kick because initially it was not reported that the kick was partially blocked (I had no idea from watching the kick that this was the case). My bad there, getting so pissed about the guy missing that last field goal. I was coming unglued after the loss. All I could think of is that we had the win if the kicker could hit a 43 yard field goal.
Parkey seems like a great guy from what I read about him. So I'm not hating on the guy, but I do want the best players possible so the Bears can do better.
Parkey has had a rough season here. I don't think anyone would disagree with that. That said, I do understand why Pace would want him when signed to the roster though. And I understand that kickers are a different animal entirely than other NFL positions. Maybe Parkey can do like Gould and bounce back from this season. I don't honestly know (nobody does at this point). But he seems to lack leg strength from what I've seen this year. I didn't follow him in past years before he came to the Bears. His accuracy is poor. He ended the season with a FG percentage of 77 percent (LINK) which ranked him as the 34th ranked kicker in the NFL this past regular season. His extra point accuracy ranked him as the 30th ranked kicker in the NFL (LINK). I also noticed that he was rarely asked to kick anything long (only 2 kicks of 50+ yards which was less than other teams (he made 1 kick over 50 yards).
So just my 2-cents worth, I believe he is performing poorly here. As one poster pointed out in the other thread, a kicker is a significant part of scoring on any team. Look at the all time scoring leaders on the Bears and you will see that the #1 all-time scoring leader is a kicker (LINK). The Bears #2 all-time scoring leader is also a kicker. Walter Payton who was a scoring machine for the Bears, ranks behind both of these players.
So a kicker is one hell of an important position on any team. He can win or lose games. Seasons sometimes come down to the kicker and a single kick. Super bowls have been decided at the last minute by - you guessed it - the kicker. Obviously it is not on the kicker alone - but - the guy you march out there to hit the game winner is a key guy in my book. So, I'm all in on getting someone better than Parkey to be our kicker next year. When you ask "who" that should be, I figure that's why we have a scouting department and a GM. They get the big bucks to figure that one out.
