(670 The Score) The Bears are signing receiver Marlon Brown to a contract, his agency confirmed Thursday afternoon after he completed a tryout at the team's minicamp.
Brown, 26, hauled in 49 receptions and seven touchdowns as a rookie with the Ravens in 2013. A 6-foot-5 target, he last played in 2015 with the Broncos. Brown has posted 87 receptions for 891 yards and seven touchdowns during three seasons of action in his career. He played collegiately at Georgia.
The Bears are in an interesting position at receiver after adding Allen Robinson and Taylor Gabriel through free agency but also losing Cam Meredith to the Saints after declining to match the offer in New Orleans. Coach Matt Nagy wants to see more from the group of receivers they have on the roster.
"The depth right now could improve," Nagy said Tuesday. "That’s the obvious answer. But, again, you have guys in this room, you say today there are guys who are there and you don’t want to slight them. You have to give them every opportunity.
"But you really can’t have enough wide receivers. So, for us, we’ll see where we’re at in regards to the draft and see which direction we want to go."

Gotta spend that money. Problem is that it is proving hard to get better than Meredith for 4.5M. So we spend just as much except in 1M dollar increments. I've seen this movie before. It was produced by Ryan Pace last FA. LOL...

Yep, and 5 $1m players who can't play for **** do not in any way add up to 1 $5m player who can, you know, actually add value to the talent pool.

Jeez.... all you do is complain. Nagy is here to start something new. NE had the "Patriots Way". Pace is trying to start our own identity. This is the Bears Way
