So how many agents are there, and why did they pick those 25? Agents that have players on the packers lions and vikings but not the bears???
I am giving them the benefit of the doubt. That it was more or less a fair poll. It surprised me. I know that Cliff Stein was one of the best in the industry. After that, I go into speculation. I wish I had insight into the Bears thought process, but we'll some input on that later, lol.
My speculation is that Ryan Pace seems to be EXTREMELY organized and methodical in his preparation. So I do not think it is Pace. I think preparation is one of his strong suits. So I have to put it at the hands of out current contract negotiator who replaced Stein. I can't remember his name.

I would think overall contract value comes from the GM so the only job of the contract preparer is to manage the cap with those numbers...which has not been an issue during Pace's tenure...so I'm not sure what the problem with him would be either. Perhaps those agents don't like that Pace has a number in mind and sticks to that number, which makes their job a bit harder.

I didnt take it to mean contract value but could be wrong. More like how ready they were with having all the clauses and stuff. You would think value and compensation were already agreed upon by the time they draft contracts.

Well that's the problem w/ the article/survey, it doesn't explain why they felt this way, or how they were unprepared, it leaves to much to the imagination.

Yeah...not sure...I don't know much on how they operate on that side of things.

Exactly. Without any context no one can say but we haven't seemed to have any problem signing people so what does that tell us. Besides, it's from USA Today.

You are a GENIUS. You brought it into focus for us. They are referring to us being least prepared because the contracts are for the wrong people!. They have seen the last few signings and last years FA still is recent memory. Now I get it!
