And then there are those who were simply built to offend.
Can we please, please, please stop with the political "jokes"? It's really getting tiresome. And please don't think this is a defense of our current POTUS. I didn't vote for the guy (or his main opponent for that matter). It's just that I hear plenty of political crap elsewhere. I (and I think many others on here) prefer to leave that junk behind when we visit this site, but because of the "jokes" in nearly every thread that's difficult to do.
This group seems to be a well balanced group of guys. For me anyway, there is politics and there is humor. Humor can be found anywhere and sometimes especially in politics. I don't know that anyone is making a political statement or anything. That is not what this site is for. But seriously, with some of the stuff that goes on in US politics (politics the world over, really) it's fairly easy to poke a little fun. That is regardless of who the people in charge are. Some of the stuff is just bone headed. Just like what we saw via Fox.
Now, I'm not encouraging political humor necessarily, I'm just saying that it is a facet of our everyday lives and we should not be afraid to have a little fun with it as we do everything else. I have seen sensitivity on things that I wonder why anyone is sensitive about and I do realize that we all have different interests and sensitivities and tolerances. So while we can try to completely stay away from anything political, I would wonder if we aren't getting too critical of stuff that is not really meant to be political. Sometimes you frame a response with something that people have seen and recognize. Sometimes those things have come from politicians (I know it's hard to believe that politicians would say anything stupid). All I am saying is that while people should be sensitive to others, unless there is really a political point or message trying to be driven home, I personally am not going to step in. If Alex wants to handle it differently, I respect that but I wanted to give my perspective. At the same time, I will watch my own posts that might be taken as political.
EDIT: I do want to know what forum members think on this. All I have is my own viewpoint and that does not mean it is the best viewpoint. I created a thread in the forum feedback section. Please provides your thoughts.
