His latest mock just came out this morning. I'd be mighty happy with Nelson. I'll bet Jordan Howard is praying we draft him (Trubisky too). Nelson is an unstoppable animal OL.

8. Chicago Bears
*Quenton Nelson, G, Notre Dame
I like what the Bears have done in free agency, adding weapons for quarterback Mitchell Trubisky in Allen Robinson, Trey Burton and Taylor Gabriel. Now go get Trubisky some more protection in Nelson, a dominant interior blocker who can slot in Josh Sitton's spot. Another thing to note: Chicago hired Harry Hiestand, Nelson's position coach at Notre Dame, this offseason to coach its offensive line.
One play in particular tells me this kid is something special as an OL. This one at 2:15. How a 6'5" 330lb OG spots that delayed blitz and peels back in time to completely destroy the rusher is magical. To me that's ++ awareness and athleticism. And on his run blocks if he latches onto a guy he's toast. He stays blocked.
If Pace feels fairly sure he's his guy and can get him at #8 it would sure explain why he let Sitton go. Nelson is younger and may already be a better all around OG. That's a pretty convincing tape.

Not only that but on a majority of those run blocks he squares up and fires out of his stance and engages his opponent. He blocks directly in the authorized area of the body. His hands never wander outside of the pad area which will be a sure penalty in the NFL.
