True but then we'd have to assume he'd be willing to do that without more guaranteed money.  I would not.  Unless you're vested for the entire season an NFL contract with no guarantees is a weekly deal.  They can cut you any time and owe you nothing.  All Lynch is guaranteed is his $1.25 mil SB.

If someone wanted or currently wants me to market for them exclusively then I need a dollar commitment from them I can live with that compensates me for possibly passing on a more lucrative offer.  If I'm on a commission only basis earning as I go they don't get exclusivity in the package.

I hear ya' but I don't believe his more recent production or lack thereof was gonna get him more than that and we're betting $1.25 mil he can stay healthy and Fangio can restore him as a decent pass rusher.  I'd have been good with a longer term deal as well but maybe Lynch didn't want that either. 

not without garnering some ill will with agent/ player. this builds team loyalty in most cases as you are giving a guy a prove it deal after 2 years of meh play AND setting him up with the coaches he's had the most success with. if he does well and the bears want to resign, he can still leverage his contract against the market.
