Yes, I agree. Browns are in a bit of a different situation than we are. They have a SHIT ton of cap space, and they have to spend a lot of it to meet the minimum spending requirements. Add that to the amount of picks they have it was a no brainer for them. They can negotiate a deal, and if they don't Landry plays under the tag, it helps them meet some of their spending requirement, and they can tag him again next year, or if he leaves they get a comp pick in return. They had both the cap space and draft capital to be able to take the risk. We did not. I don't blame Pace for passing if Landry said he wouldn't sign an extension right away. In Landry's defense he probably thinks his value will be even higher when he's in an offense that has him run routes that go beyond 3 yards from the line of scrimmage on a more consistent basis than Gase's offense, and thus wants to try and test the market next year.
