I've said it before. You have to keep your eyes on the target. Which is to make the team a perennial contender. When the season is gone, losing hurts you. It doesn't help you. The guys do not come in all dejected because they lost last year. They come into a new season full of hope. When you suck, you want (and need) a high draft pick. When you suck and don;t get a high draft pick (a pick that moves your agenda forward like a QB ,pass rusher, etc), then things REALLY suck.I did not mind losing last year. We were not going forward until we got a QB. We lost and were able to get one. That makes us more competitive moving forward. This year we need several things, but the one piece we really need a high pick for is the pass rusher. I don't see us getting him now. And does anyone really feel like this season was worth the wins to not get that guy? I don't.
But this HAS GOT TO STOP. we can't keep hoping for losses to get players we need. I mean, it's fine for a few years, but this has gone on long enough. Like I said last year, I wouldn't mind one more high pick for a pass rusher. Turns out we need one even more than I thought. But now we have suck without the reward. And every suck should end with a "happy ending". Getting rid of Fox will have to do.
