Week 15/Cleveland Browns -Toilet Bowl, not the Super Bowl...

Here's the trophy both teams will be playing for on Sunday.

And herein lies one of the sweet mysteries of life that will keep the outcome in doubt.  Focks is 0-7 as favorite and the Browns 2-0 as an underdog on Christmas Eve.

Purely from my own perspective I would prefer that we lose for two reasons which make great sense to me.

1) The season was lost long ago and Focks fate sealed.  A win is meaningless and it may cost us an edge rusher we'd truly covet in the draft or force Pace to once again burn picks to trade up for him.  At the moment the future means more than the here and now.

2) This would seem to put an exclamation mark on the embarrassment Focks, Phillips, and the McCaskeys should be experiencing.  The follow on to that would be a wish that it would also seal Ted Phillips fate as team President and force the McCaskeys to hire someone with the skills to run this team as it should be run.

In truth I don't expect either to happen but it's my Christmas wish and I've been surprised before.

What do you guys think about Kizer?  He's had a rough year and a lot of ints, but do you think he could ultimately develop into being a good NFL QB?  I was one who liked Kizer in last years draft class.  He had a rough time at Notre Dame.  And then to land on the Cleveland Browns after his ND (bad) experience, seemed tough.

It pains me to say this as a Bears fan, but I honestly believe that in some ways, CLE is better than we are.

They took immediate corrective action and brought in what I consider to be a good GM. They don't wait when waiting accomplishes nothing.

We do. For some strange romanticized mentality, the Bears will not let go of a coach in mid season. I do not know what keeping Fox on accomplished. Nothing that I can see.

Some will say that changing too quickly hurts the team. I say that is a huge pile of crap. When you smell crap, you need to clean it out. It does nothing to live with the smell. Nothing is ever accomplished in business (or IMO life) by knowing you have a problem and not acting on it.

That is strictly ownership, possibly with financial input from Phillips to tell ownership they should not eat more than one year. But the solution is not to live with the problem you caused yourself by living with it so that you can maintain your lifestyle --- in fact, you must put the money into correcting the solution and tighten your belt as a measure to get through those financial times. Ownership does not want to tighten their belt. They would rather continue to take as much out of the team for themselves as they are used to and to let the team flounder until the errors they made have been paid for.

That is exactly what has been happening that I think that is mostly Teddy making sure his masters continue to have the cash flow they would like. George needs to tell Teddy to fix it and if they make less for a few years until they fix it, then so be it. As a matter of fact, they deserve to make less. They keep messing up, Who pays are the players and the fans.

This is the root problem. They need to have a win or else attitude and they need to get rid of the financial guy that protects their income first and worries about winning second.

THIS is the root cause and has been for years.
