I wouldn't hate getting Minkah. I've seen him play since high school. Flat out stud. Plus with the amount of nickel and dime packages teams play having a cover safety doesn't make this just a luxury pick.

a DB that can cover the 3rd receiver is very valuable in today's league. Hard time thinking about draft picks until i know who the coach is, as that could have a serious effect on team needs.

Agreed. And as of today we're sitting at 4-9 with the #8 overall pick and most likely to end up 5-11. Which may keep us in the top ten but barely.
I gotta stick with my gut feel that Pace will look for a defensive playmaker first if one falls to him or if he can't sign a guy like Norwell in FA to bolster the OL and NDs Quenton Nelson is on the board when we pick he'd be hard to pass up especially with Long still needing surgery on his shoulder and Sitton in the last year of his deal and a cap hit of over $8 mil.
IMHO two thing Pace cannot do is allow the receiving core to be as depleted as it was this year and not provide Trubisky and Howard with a very strong interior OL. I'm less concerned about the edge rush with him as long as he has a clean pocket to step up into and/or escape with his legs. If they want him to develop he need targets who can get open and catch and the time to throw to them.
