Hey, I'm the money manager, remember? You collect it then I make it grow. That's how this works.
I AM trying to collect it. I'll send it to you as soon as I get it from you. I promise.
Somehow this reminds me of a bit from a Marx Bros. movie but I'll play along.
Loan me $100 so I can invest with you. Then you can send it back for me to manage and in the process somehow forget I borrowed it to begin. Kinda like all the Presidents men forgot the Russian Ambassador is actually a real Russian whom they spoke with. You can remind me from time to time and then I can say I don't recall our conversation.
If this actually works I may be good for a few hundred more.
If they were booing anyone it should have been Focks and Pace for releasing him.
What's he done since he left? Oh just 34 for 36, 94.4% accuracy is all. But it was time to let him go too just like AJ right? LOL Focks, and Pace by acquiescing, have destroyed this teams offense and not just a little. They blew it to ****ing smithereens.
So we should cheer on Robbie and AJ. They're in a better place now.
I didn't want to release him but I understood it at the time. He was not performing at his best yet he was the highest paid kicker in the NFL. He went on to kick for the Giants for part of the season and then they let him go as well. It seemed the move for Gould has rejuvenated him some and he even admitted it.
There's not guarantee that he would be performing this well if he stayed with the Bears and I can guarantee that if he was still struggling with the Bears that fans would be screaming that they need to get rid of the overpaid bum. It was already happening before the Bears released him.

Can't argue with any of that. Of course, I reserve the right to anyway!

Yep, I do recall all of that Hawk but how many others have we paid far more too and gotten far less from? Most of our mid tier WR pickups I'd say and how long do we keep excusing Kevin Whites injuries when one factor in allowing AJ to leave was lack of availability.
As I said it's entirely possible getting cut was a motivator just as getting away from the Bears may have been. He's since been with two equally horrible teams record wise but he's corrected his flaw and added leg strength to boot. Maybe that never happens if he's still a Bear or maybe it does. We'll never know.
But what I do know is this. Letting the top scorer in team history and one of the most accurate in NFL history go in exchange for Connor Barth without even trying to negotiate a reduced salary was just plain dumb and I will never see it any differently than that. Even "Bad Robbie" was better than "Good Barth".
Foxhole is done. He is a dead man walking. I was concerned that starting T might allow him enough wins to stay on. All he did is start the process to mess up Trubs. He still loses. And the losses to GB and the 49ers sealed it. He is done.
That is true, I think he's toast here. The problem/challenge is for the franchise to hire a good replacement. Brad Biggs is reporting this morning that the better coaching candidates may not want to come here. He cites a number of reasons why (LINK).
So, not only do we have a problem getting an interim HC if Fox is fired mid-season, it may also be hard to get a solid HC for next season. The top candidates may not want to come here. Biggs cites the San Francisco landing of Shannahan as one way to get them to come here (give them an incredible multi-year deal and a boatload of money - and control over personnel). But that probably isn't gonna happen here with the McCaskeys and Sweaty Teddy. So we could end up with another deadbeat coach. Sad to consider isn't it?
i actually think the Chi gig looks very good. Compare it to SF last year or even the Bears last year. A head coach can come in here, dictate terms on a first rd pick (they should ask for and get what they want in rd 1) and has a decent QB prospect, all pro RB, play making scat back. The biggest issue is what kind of defense they will want to install.
