The word from my grandson the football nut is a foot issue (no back problems) which may be the same toe injury Sitton has been dealing with since 2014 so you're spot on chuck. He's played though all of it as I posted before. Since becoming a starter he hasn't missed any starts. Like Kyle Long he's a warrior so it would appear that we're all good here.

The Porker faithful and the GB press are puzzled he was let go and they are not happy campers at all. It seems like his release was probably cap related. With nearly a $7 mil cap hit, at age 30, and looking for an extension paying more than his 2016 salary (which he got from us) it seems he was looked at as being expendable.

Looking at the Porkers cap numbers on Spotrac they have just $11.459 mil available after releasing Sitton with his $7 mil hit meaning they would have had just $4.459 mil available to take them through the season. That's a pretty slim margin if they have a significant number of injuries and have to sign players to replace key starters.

So call this a very nice and very timely pay back for us losing Pep to them two years ago due to our own cap issues.

Pace addressed this today in a press conference. Said there is not a concern regarding Sitton's back.

Good, then we have straight from the guy who signed him. I'd not heard that either so I don't know where it came from. That's why I reached out to my grandson. Joe's a teen age walking encyclopedia of NFL football trivia especially about the Pack. That kid probably has more info on the team than the GB media. He's ****ing sponge of useful info.

The Chicago Bears added two more players to their practice squad Monday, filling up nine of the 10 spots they are officially allowed. The team announced center Cornelius Edison and cornerback Demontre Hurst are both being added after the team released the two young players Sunday.

Edison started the third and fourth preseason games at center for the Bears, pushing veteran Ted Larsen back to guard, but after the team claimed Eric Kush on waivers and signed Josh Sitton in free agency, Edison was the odd-man out on the interior.

After showing a lot to like in the preseason, Edison was thought to be potentially earning the starting job for the regular season, but the makeup of this offensive line changed quickly over the weekend, and he found himself headed to the practice squad.

Hurst wound up in a similar situation, as the Bears claimed undrafted rookie free agent Cre’Von LeBlanc on waivers from the New England Patriots, and his practice squad eligibility made him a prime candidate to be cut and stashed.

The Bears also tried to add Houston Texans running back Akeem Hunt to the practice squad, according to the Houston Chronicle, but he instead chose to return to his team, rather than joining their Week 1 opponent.

Ryan Pace still has one practice squad spot to fill, and it would seem likely that he could be looking at a defensive lineman to add, given that it is the only positional group not found on the squad already.

I don;t know if we tried. I liked him, but maybe the Bears did not.

Not yet but that's who I hope they add. He could be trolling to catch on somewhere else though after being cut two years running.
