There was a risk, but it wasn't a great risk, and if it had happened it wasn't a great loss.
Hoo hoo, well I'll remind you that you said that when he becomes a top slot guy. I just hope it's with us is all. I'll bet ya' a buck he makes you eat those words. Are we on? LOL
Top slot guy this year? Or 2-3 years from now? This year he's not going to be anything more then a DEEP bench guy; and that's if he gets off the PS.

I didn't say this year but after Royal is gone next year I'd say there'll be an opening for a slot receiver in 2017. So yeah, I'm looking at 2-3 years from now. You're still gonna be a Bears fan then too right? LOL

I don't disagree with that, but you don't keep a guy on the roster who MIGHT be able to replace a guy in a year or so. You can get guys like Braverman, slot guys every year in the draft. No reason to cut ties w/better players for the hopes of things better to come from a late rd WR that cannot play ST's effectively.
This again is something people need to remember, the back of the roster is for ST's play first, and their future potential 2nd.

And we didn't. My only reason for keeping him on the final 53 was to avoid losing him on waivers. Once he was waived we couldn't pull him back if someone claimed him and I still think the kid has great upside. Not only that but he seems truly obsessed with succeeding. I like that about him too.
But my worry was needless. We got him onto the PS for now and I agree that's the best spot for him for now. He'll get more reps playing the slot WR for the scout team than he would have with the first string as the #2 slot guy anyway. That should help with his eventual development as much as anything.
After watching how easily this kid greased OSU I know he can play in the NFL. When is one question right now and for who is the other.
Now don't argue with me anymore when you know I'm right. LOL
That was fast. #Bears pull a switcheroo at long snapper. Re-sign Patrick Scales and release Aaron Brewer.
??
If only Emery was still here. He could have signed and unsigned each of them at least a have a dozen times. And that's before the season starts next week.

Emery would release Brewer and sign him back 4 seconds after, just for shits and giggles

Yeah but Angelo couldn't, he'd forget to check the box.
Here's a question : if a team wants one of the guys on your PS , can he refuse to go ?
- sure most guys would probably want to go knowing they have to be put on the new teams active roster , but they can also be cut a week later right ? and if a guy was looking further down the road and believed he was progressing towards the active roster , and thought it was his best move ( long term ) to show loyalty and stay , can he ?

We tried to sign RB Akeem Hunt who was just released by Houston to our PS and he decided to sign with Houston instead (link). So it looks like the player does have the choice.
