Bears release Joique Bell and sign David Cobb to the practice squad. Not sure if anyone remembers but Cobb was a pretty good RB from Minnesota. I always thought he was pretty talented.

I dug up this about him. Sounds like he could be a decent RB:
ANALYSIS
STRENGTHS Powerful, compact runner with a low center of gravity. Efficient and decisive. Makes defenders miss with slight movement and hand usage. Won't succumb to arm tackles. Gained 54 percent of his yardage after contact from 2013-2014. Patient runner who gets the most from his runs. Has good speed in open field for a back his size. Balance is his friend. Smooth change-of-direction with little wasted motion. Gets low and finishes with leg drive. When he smells the end zone, he wants to eat.
WEAKNESSES Average improviser. Not a stop-start runner and lacks dynamic qualities. Gets yards on his plate and those that he grinds for after contact. Lacks lateral quickness to bounce runs outside with consistent success in the NFL. Average acceleration through the line of scrimmage, inviting a sea of arms to slow his progress. Fumbled in four of six games in the middle of the 2014 season. Needs more commitment to pass protection. Average hands as a receiver. Needs extended runway to ramp up to top speed.
DRAFT PROJECTION Round 4
SOURCES TELL US "I'm hoping we get him. He can step right in and play because he runs tough and he knows how to pass protect. His offensive line was bad too. He's a way shiftier runner than he gets credit for." - AFC running back coach.
NFL COMPARISON Stevan Ridley
BOTTOM LINE Cobb's highlights might bore you, but he's custom-made for physical running teams. Adjusting his style to the speed of the NFL game might take some time, but Cobb's downhill, run-finishing style fits what running games are becoming in the NFL and, in the right scheme, he has a shot to be more than just a complementary back. Cobb will have to do everything he can to make himself quicker in order to avoid becoming nothing more than a grinder.
Cobb was a good RB in college and I thought he's do well in the NFL. Here's what I've found out about his career so far.
Tennessee Titans[edit] The Tennessee Titans selected Cobb with the 138th overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft.[11] He was placed on injured reserve with a designation to return on September 6, 2015.[12] He was activated to the 53-man roster on November 11, 2015.[13]
The Titans released Cobb on August 30, 2016.[14]
Pittsburgh Steelers[edit] On September 7, the Pittsburgh Steelers signed Cobb to their practice squad.[15] He was released on October 11, 2016.[16]
Chicago Bears[edit] On October 25, 2016, Cobb was signed to the Bears' practice squad.[17]

I remember Cobb well. He's pretty much a one trick pony power back who could fill in for either Carey or Howard and run their stuff. He's actually a good fit for this scheme.
Bears have now waived Jacoby Glenn. I actually thought Glenn made some good plays for the team.
I liked the way Glenn played early this year but he seemed to regress a bit over the last few games to the point where he seemed lost he was so far off his guy.
Guys are shuffled on an off that PS all the time so he may be back at some point in time too if they haven't given up on him. I think it's also means that others who've missed time due to injuries like Hall and Callahan are close to returning and at some point they can also bring Fuller back if he's healed.
I'd like to Bausby gone but LeBlanc has looked good and so have Callahan and Hall before they were hurt. I think he's just a victim of the old numbers game where we needed a RB on the PS more than another CB.

As I've said on the other board, I really like this signing. Cobb and David Johnson were my favorite RBs in the 2015 draft and I was hoping one of them would end up as a Bear.
Would you promote him to the 53 man roster and trade Langford? I wonder what we could get for a guy like him.

Not much. Langford isn't a guy many teams would want. I think his limitations have been well exposed by now GB. He's useful as a specialty back and may be even more useful if he can run some of the stuff Forte did as a receiver but for him to be effective they really need to get the ball to him in space mainly on pass plays or as a runner on toss sweeps. He's not all that effective inside the OTs like Carey and Howard are.

i really liked Bausby, hope he will be back, on roster and old form. Bell? dont have an opinion, but I think were real good at RB at the moment. I like Langford too, especially Carey. I have a feeling (fear) that they trying to get rid of Carey, from day 1. Langford they like, hes 'their' guy.
The Bears on Wednesday re-signed quarterback David Fales and linebacker Jonathan Anderson to their active roster and placed tight end Zach Miller on injured reserve.
Fales was selected by the Bears in the sixth round of the 2014 draft out of San Jose State. He split time between the 53-man roster and practice squad his first two seasons without appearing in a regular-season game.
After being waived by the Bears Sept. 3 as part of final cuts, Fales was re-signed Wednesday off the Ravens practice squad, where he had spent most of the season.
Anderson originally signed with the Bears last year as an undrafted free agent from TCU. He has appeared in 14 games with three starts the past two seasons, recording 41 tackles, one interception, five pass breakups and two tackles-for-loss.
Miller broke his foot in last Sunday's loss to the Giants. He currently leads the Bears with 47 receptions for a career-high 486 yards and a team-high four touchdowns. In three seasons in Chicago, the converted college quarterback has caught 81 passes for 925 yards and nine TDs.
The Bears on Wednesday also signed offensive lineman Lawrence Okoye and defensive lineman Jimmy Staten to the practice squad.
Okoye entered the NFL in 2013 as an undrafted free agent with the 49ers. He has also spent time with the Cardinals (2015), Jets (2015) and Cowboys (2016) without appearing in a regular-season game. Born and raised in England, Okoye played rugby while growing up and later competed in discus in the 2012 Olympic Games, finishing 12th.
Staten was selected in the fifth round of the 2014 draft by the Seahawks out of Middle Tennessee. He has also spent time with the Giants (2015), Patriots (2015) and Chiefs (2015-16) without appearing in a regular-season game.
The moves come one day after the Bears re-signed cornerback De'Vante Bausby to the active roster, signed receiver Dres Anderson to the practice squad and released receiver Darius Jennings from the practice squad.
