Bears sign Joique Bell, 30 year old running backs I thought needed to be sent packing b/c they fell off a cliff. They are just making shit up as they go along at this point. It almost makes me wonder if they wanted to strip the qb's of any talent to make it easier to have them fail so they could pave the way for a new qb.
They can't find some street FA rookie RB with great speed that didn't make a roster to take a chance on as the #3 RB? This isn't a team building for the future, its a team madly thrashing around in confusion.
Looks like the Tresty and Tucker show when they were bringing in any street FA who could count to three.
In the offseason trade Cutler to Miami where Gase might be able to make use out of him; b/c Tannehill doesn't apparently work w/Gase. Another 4th round pick, Pace loves those. Draft a qb or pass rusher or LT in the top 5 pick they will have(which ever is the highest rated/biggest difference maker available), then try and move back into the 1st to get one of the other pieces.

Do I understand that you want to trade Cutler for only a single 4th round pick? If so you won't get my vote for GM either. Philly got a 1st and a 4th for f'ing Sam Bradford for cryin' out loud. I also doubt Miami would trade a young QB like Tannehill whose not all bad and three games is not enough to make any kind of judgement as to whether or not they work well as HC and QB.
Cutler probably won't interest him all that much unless Gase believe he can save his bacon in Miami better than Tannehill and then why wouldn't you just swap QBs? He hasn't won as much as Cutler has but his personal stats are as good or better also playing on some poor teams and he has a very hot wife too. LOL
To be hones I have no idea what cutler would fetch, the 4th is just a homage to how Pace seems content to get rid of vets for a 4th round pick. Part of the same trade was the desperation the Vikes were in, he's not worth a 1st and 4th to anyone, unless on the eve of the season their starting qb goes down. I would hope Cutler would get more; especially from a OC, now HC that had some success w/him.

I would hope so too because for that little with his contract we'd be far better off to keep 'til we knew we had better or at least some reasonable certainty of it.
I think we have to wait for the season to finish before we can tell how well the fusion of Gase and Tannehill works out. That was one game against a very good D. In the two previous games he threw for over 300 yards in each, his passer rating was over 90, and they scored 54 points. It was two tough D's with Seattle and Cincy they had problems with. That's still FAR better than we've been doing.
I don't know that Cutler would ever command a 1st round pick any longer but he's worth far more than a single 4th and in a tight spot or not Minny still could have said no. I think this way the feel it will be very low picks in each of those rounds whereas if the Bears give up a 1st in trade for anyone it will be a high pick.
So, the same factors probably come into play if they trade Cutler. It all depends on the trading partner, how badly they want him, and where they pick. He's still a better option than many teams have but his bad press may suppress his value too. Who knows?

Let's assume that Hoyer plays fairly consistently at the level he did yesterday and also assume that Conner Shaw returns from his injury and looks like the heir apparent. Cutler becomes expendable.
If you were a GM, what would you be willing to pay for Jay (and his contract)? I think any significant draft picks would have to be conditional. Otherwise why not wait for the Bears to release Jay and then you have a blank slate for negotiations. I would like to get as much as possible like everyone else. But as Soul says above, Jay is damaged goods in the NFL and I suspect his market value is pretty low.

Ok, but lets not forget that Jay is still a (much) better QB than Hoyer is
