I have no clue as to what our record will be this year. That 2-win prediction sure seems low to me, but honestly who knows at this point? My wild guess is that we are somewhere around .500 this year with 8 wins or so. With this being the 3rd year of the rebuild, if we can't win at least 8 games under John Fox, then he's gotta go for sure. And honestly, I feel like if the best we can get out of Fox is 8 wins after 3 years, then that still should be enough to fire him.
I mean think about it. 3 years of fairly high draft position and 3 years of FA, and 3 years of continuity of schemes and most of the coaching staff. If 8 wins is "it" after all of that, then we need to bring in a new HC for sure.
LOL, and if all we get are 2 wins then that is outrageous performance after 3 years here.
Here's my fear. What I don't want to see is for Fox to just win enough to stick around, and not be a coach who can get us to a super bowl winning level. I'd rather see him be super-bad or super-good... and not just another mediocre Chicago Bears coach who sticks around for years and years. So if it's not going to be a great year, I hope Fox craps the bed enough to be shown the door here.
Can you picture Fox winning "just enough" to get a new contract after 4 years here? That would be just like the Bears too.
Not only can I see it, but believe it is the most likely scenario
I still say this team has 5-8 wins in them, if they stay relatively healthy closer to 8.
The schedule is tough, but the Def is solid, and all they need is an OC that knows to run 20-25 times a game, and doesn't freak b/c he's down 7-10 pts in the 2nd qtr and aborts running for passes. I think, and hope, that Glennon surprises some people and plays average to slightly above average(a 12-15 ranked qb). And the Bears run game really impresses again.
The crew from the Trib forecasts 5-11 which I think may be high but 2-14 seems low. Somewhere in between seem like a Goldilocks number for our second worst HC in history. I honestly don't care as long as whatever the record it's bad enough to get Fox a ticket out of town and us another top ten pick or top five if possible.
These hack SI prediction stories always make me think of 2001 article i saw when they predicted the Bears wouldn't win a single game.
That was a year when Warrick Holdman lead in tackles, Colvin in sacks, Peanut and Briggs weren't even drafted yet, Jim Miller was the Qb, etc...and you guys know the rest...
What did the Bears lose from last year that would make them take a step back? Cutler and his 5 games? Aj and his 800 some yards with 2 TD's?
I think the team can handle those loses...and i aint done drinking my kool-aid yet damnit!!!

What about Porter, how can we possibly live w/out Porter?
Jokes aside if we got a top 2 pick, we're going to rob someone of their picks.
Don't think we'll see that, but yeah I'd be all for trading down with that. Unless we have a shot at a once in a lifetime talent at DE -- or hell, I like T, but that high we might even have a shot at the top QB and if they think he would be a lot better than T, go for that and trade T for picks. But at this point, I consider him a Bear and would like to give him a shot.

There's a lot of unknowns with this team which means most people will lean negative. Given the injuries we had last year it's hard to evaluate what we even have. So articles like this are not surprising.
Provided we don't get mauled by injuries again, and either Glennon or Trub put in a decent season, I would be surprised if we didn't win 7-8 games. We lost a lot of close games last year. Far more than the mean. We also had churned through 4 QBs by the end of the season.
