Back on topic ...
I can understand that the situation as awkward for Glennon. But these guys are supposed to be competitors. And more than anything I think this is one of the Bears draft stories needed to fill the narrative that Pace and the Bears front office are a bunch of clueless chumps.

Some people might call it conjecture, that Glennon is upset over the Bears drafting a QB at #2 and the Bears trading up to get him. But I am here to say, if Glennon isn't upset and feels cheated he no man. Yes, I am sure he didn't say anything to anyone other then his family, close friend and maybe Pace and or Fox.
I know this first hand, I was drafted, by the Cowboys in 1976 only to have the Cowboys trade to move up to the #2 spot in the draft to draft Tony Dorsett RB. Yes, Dorsett was the a 1976 Heisman Memorial Trophy winner, and yes history will bear out that Dorsett was a not only a far better RB, then I ever would be, oh did forget he also in the Hall of Famer along with a very long list of other accolades, and a long time friend. Does this take sting out what happened, HEL_ NO. So, I feel for Glennon and the pain as well as the feeling being cheated.
But unlike me, I hope this coming year won't be his best career year but just one of many of being years a great QB, after the Bears cut he in favor of their #2 pick.

I couldn't agree with you more. I hope he helps our team win games this year (and looks like a real winner while doing it). If Trubisky works out to be our franchise QB for the next decade or so, I hope Glennon has a wonderful career wherever he lands.
And I understand that he was hurt and disappointed when we drafted Trubisky. But we are not insulated from that stuff in life. It has happened to me in my career. Since I am not a pro athlete it didn't happen in the same way but it still happened. And when it happens all you can do is let it go and do what you can to make the best out of a bad situation. It sucks but when it happens it is pretty much all you can do.

I don't feel bad for him, I just don't think the Bears should have put him at HH if there was even a 20% chance they would try and land Trub, and it sounds like it was more like they were going to go after him and had a 80% of getting him.

Pace and the Bears are ones that messed this. If Pace and Bears were even 60% and way it sounds they new for along time this was their plan, was to draft a QB in the first round then they shouldn't have signed Glennon and wasted all that money. Sign a lesser QB and go for a high draft in next years draft. Of course, the owners might have forced Pace's hand, with something like either win more games or Fox and you be fired at the end of the season. As fans we don't have a first hand view o what goes on at HH
Jusnixx: Quit your damn crying. Life is tough and nothing should be handed to you.
MG: But Pace told me I was "the man"
Jusnixx: Well then go out there and prove it. If you play well enough then you have nothing to worry about. How fair would it be to he other players and the fans to just hand the starting QB job to an unproven guy with no competition?
The guy's a professional player, and needs to act like one. Too often sports stars kick their toys out of the pram because something isn't the way they want it. Me, me, me mentality. They need to accept the real world where everything is earnt and nothing should be given. If you want to keep it, make sure you play the best damn football you can, then you keep the starting place. If you keep on whining like a child because you didn't get eveything you wanted, then grow up or pack up and go.
The fact that he's worried about someone that hasn't even played a game in the NFL yet, worries me more than the fact that he's upset that he had a Bears commitment and he was put in an awkward situation. Says to me he doesn't back his own ability to keep his job.
In what round would he have felt comfortable with the Bears drafting a QB? 3rd, 4th, 5th? Does it mean his job is any more or less secure if they were drafted later? The Bears showed due diligence and felt they needed to get the quy they wanted. They got him, yes, it doesn't look like you are backing your FA signing, but maybe the Bears are thinking they might be better than expected next year, and this was the year they needed to go for the QB as they were in the first three picks, so it was a good time to strike.
So, Mike Glennon, go and prove the Bears wrong that they drafted a QB in the 1st, in doing so you will prove them right for signing you if your play is up to scratch because it could mean a much later pick in the draft next year. Also, you may actually be proving the Bears right in drafting Trubisky at the same time.
The power remains in your hands, what you do with it is up to you.
