It's a cold and rainy Central Illinois Sunday, but I'm hunkered down with a bowl of killer-hot homemade chili & watching a great Trubisky game on YouTube. It's North Carolina (Trubisky) playing Pitt. Trubisky passed for 452 yards in this game with 5-touchdowns and zero ints to lead UNC to rally past Pitt 37-36. Great come from behind game for Trubisky. They needed everything Trubisky could give them to win this one by 1 point. He had a QB rating of 197.4 in this game. LOL, I have no clue how they figure college QBR, but it sure sounds impressive... I just figure it means "he did good" or something like that :-)

On a side note, ex-Bear, DT, Dusty Dvoracek, is the game announcer. Small world. Anyway I thought I'd share this if anyone else is wanting to brighten their day in spite of the rain... and I wish I could send you all some of this good chili too :-)

They take a safety right out of the chute. Then they are slow to score early in the game and fall behind. It's cool to see how Trubisky responds though. Divorcek, seemed to be dogged by injuries all the time, and then didn't he get into an off-field incident that landed him in jail? As an announcer in this game he seems okay.

If you want to fast-forward to the last 8 minutes of this game, it has Trubisky leading a come-from-behind two touchdown effort. He came up big here. Also, the team they're facing (Pitt) had Peterman as their QB.

Why didn't Switzer keep running after the 4th and 9 reception (about 55 seconds left in the game)? He grabbed the ball, went down and flipped it to the ref without a defender touching up. But definitely an impressive game. Mitch Mitchell Grabowsky Trubisky does seem to learn quickly from his mistakes. That last pass was a nice comeback from a low ball a couple passes earlier.

I watched the Florida State game after the Pitt game. Here's my quick take on Trubisky (I have not watched him very much at all... today's two games were the most I've seen of him):

1. He has a BEAUTIFUL touch on most of his passes.
2. Usually he gets the ball out quick, with plenty of velocity - but as I said, with a nice touch on the ball.
3. Poised under pressure - even when the game is on the line.
4. Smart play. Protects the ball. Accurate passer. Seems to see the entire field (at least he looks that way to me).
5. He looks like the "anti-Cutler" because every weak point Jay had, looks to be a strength for Trubisky. As another poster said in another thread today, he has the attributes that you can't teach. You can teach the rest.

I can see why Pace wanted to give up so much to get this guy. He sure looks like the kind of smart kid to build your franchise on.
