OK, his constant off field incidents coupled with suspensions/ban for alcohol and failed drug test don't scream success story waiting to happen. He has been an absolute train wreck since 2013 but what if he could rekindle that talent he displayed in 2012/13? Great size and talent but just cannot seem to stay out of trouble. The Browns seem to be ready to cut bait with him if they cannot trade him which is the likeliest outcome. This isn't Father Flanagan and Boy's Town but why not look into a 1 year prove it contract with no incentives and just cut him if he cannot stay straight. It is worth the risk if you ask me. We need a talent like him on the receiving corps and he is only 25/26. A ton of baggage but no violence issues. What thinks ye Bears brothers?
Even if he is reinstated, it's doubtful the Browns will give him another chance. A source said they'll likely try to trade him or possibly even release him. They have his rights for two more years after he's reinstated.
But the Browns have given Gordon numerous chances, and he hasn't been able to stay on the field for them. He's been suspended for 43 of their last 48 games, and hasn't seen the field since Dec. 21, 2014 -- a 17-13 loss to the Panther
Graziano also reported that Gordon, who turns 26 next month, has been working out in Gainesville, Florida with former Olympian Tim Montgomery.
Well you could argue McDonald with his history was also a train wreck waiting to happen and they convinced McCaskey to sign it off. Who knows.
Ya and that worked out terribly, so I doubt they do it again.
Two different types of guys really. Josh just has trouble putting the weed down, he's not beating his wife or girlfriend. Apples and oranges to me, and I would take a chance on Josh...it doesn't cost you anything.

Neither can find themselves on the field for off the field issues though, so I don't think they would, that's all I'm saying.

There are two questions here: Would Josh Gordon help the Bears on the field? Definitely. Would Ryan Pace ever bring someone with Gordon's baggage onto the team after the McDonald fiasco? Doubtful.
Depending on his salary demands, I'd bring him on board. If he's an issue, cut him. If he gets his act together and plays like we all know he can, good fricking deal.
