If it's a run heavy O, and they can find a replacement to Jeffery and find a OT that can actually push Leno/Massie then I think you stand a good chance of seeing better qb play.
I've heard his ceiling referred to as Eli or Matty Ice, and his floor is Orton. None of those are terrible, 2 are franchise qb's that have gotten their teams to SB's, the other is a boarderline starter/bridge qb that can put a team in a position to win. I'll take that as long as the team drafts a QB in the first 3 rounds.
btw, the team still has hopes that Shaw can develop into something, he's just not ready to compete yet. I'm still of the belief he's likely a backup quality qb but that isn't a bad thing to have on your roster.
I think his floor is a bit higher than Orton. From the little I can see on the videos, he has a much better arm than Orton, And if the positive reviews of his play are correct, he has at least as good instincts for game management and protecting the football.
I think the idea is that Orton is the case study for "game manager". And Orton's arm wasn't near as bad as people think, although his deep ball accuracy wasn't as good as Glennon's imo.

Hey, I didn't say KO had a "noodle arm", just that it looks like Glennon's is a lot livelier.

that we can agree on. Glennon, when he can get the ball out has a really nice deep ball.

Kyle had a decent arm. When he played for us, he had a long windup mechanic that made his release a bit slow. At least that was my take on it. Orton made the most of the moderate talent he had, and I admired that. He ended up having a very nice and long career for a QB with modest raw talent. He seemed like a nice guy too. I met him one day, here in Bloomington Illinois briefly, and he was very good to my young son who was an Orton fan to the max. My son even had his jersey & was wearing it that day. LOL, probably the only kid in America with an Orton jersey at the time :-)

I had an Orton jersey, an orange alt one that I got after he left for $20. I was hopinghe would work out in Den and I'd be able to resell it for $50....neither worked out.
