nah... if it's a need, Pace goes FA with it. Or so he says and looks like he actually did what he said he would do.

Any 2018 QB you like? ^^ Mason Rudolph & Sam Darnold seem pretty good.

You never really know but Darnold caught my eye (Not in the same way he caught Ric's eye)
IF the 18 qb class is far superior to this one, I still hope they don't wait until next year to draft one. One we've heard this same thing every year for the last 3 or 4 years; and it normally doesn't hold water. Last year at this time Kizer and Watson would have been sure fire first rounders; now apparently they shouldn't(not will)get drafted until the 2nd or 3rd round. 2, they've waited to long and need someone to groom, and there are people worth developing in round 2-3.
I did hope Rudolph would jump into the league this year and the Bears could grab him in rounds 1 or 2, but if he has another year like he did this year he might well be a 1st round pick so it was smart on his part.
Except if the plan is to go 4-12 and draft high again to get the QB, there will again be all those once-in-a-generation-future-multiple-year-PB/AP-HOF defenders so the argument will be since they will never draft that high again and QBs almost never turn out Pace shouldn't draft one....maybe I'll just cut and paste my posts from this year and save for next year.

I don't think that's ever the plan. I think for fans it becomes the plan after the season is lost but I can only speak for myself

My comment is more general in nature, a gentle mocking of those who say "pick the QB next year when the class is better." Its never true (because they were saying that last year) and there will always be some flavor-of-the-month defender ranked high because he's 'special.'

Would love Darnold - but if not then Baker Mayfield

It's not never draft a QB. It's don't draft a QB in a weak class with your first pick just because you need one and lose out on other players that will likely have more benefit to the team.
