I've seen this stated now a couple of times. Clemson was a very talented team...no doubt, but he elevated that team. I don't see how thats arguable. You could say the same thing about any player from Alabama...or FSU...or LSU. Should you not draft players who play on talented teams?
Many years it is true. How many times have we seen national championship team QBs who were not worth anything at the NFL level? I am not saying it's true with Watson. Not at all. Clearly he has talent for the next level. But I do struggle to compare him to a guy like Kizer. I'm just admitting that I don't know how much to adjust to make it more of an apples-to-apples comparison (for me). I'm sure the professional scouts don't have any issue with this at all. I'm just a fan. And I'm admitting I don't know :-)
Yeah...I think the bigger issue comparing those two is they are very different QB's. Would Kizer put up Watsons #'s at Clemson...who knows. I think he'd have better numbers than he did this year at Notre Dame...but who knows.
