Cornelius Washington was the "Top Performer" in every category at the Combine. A physical freak. Yet he was a disappointment after we drafted him. Tom Brady put in one of the worst performances in the entire history of the combine, yet has had a great career.
I'm going to try and take the Combine performances with a grain of salt and not get too worked up over good or bad.
LOOK: Tom Brady was really, really bad at the NFL combine in 2000
Some players will see their draft stock shoot up after the combine, some will see their draft stock fall, but whatever happens, there's a good chance no one will match Tom Brady's legendary NFL combine of 2000 -- and keep in mind, it's only legendary for how bad it was.
Fifteen years later, Brady's 40 time still stands as the slowest among active NFL starting quarterbacks -- and it's really not even close. Philip Rivers, who's not exactly known for his blazing speed, ran 5.08 in 2004. Even Nick Foles managed to top Brady, running a 5.03 in 2012.
Brady also struggled with his vertical jump at the combine. The former Michigan quarterback only got 24½ inches in the air. To put that in perspective, Raiders quarterback Derek Carr had a 34½-inch jump at the 2014 combine.
Of course, 40 times and vertical jumping ability have absolutely nothing to do with someone's ability to play quarterback, as Brady has proved many, many, many, many times over.
To check out the footage from Brady's workout, head over to the NFL's YouTube channel here.
Finally, if someone struggles at the combine this week, be sure not to write them off because they could go on to marry a supermodel and win four Super Bowls, like the guy below.
Love me some Katie Nolan...I really wish she would have come to see me for some um....training...before this bit...I could have had that 40 time down easy!
Being an athlete is important for most positions, but it's not the end all; especially for qb. The combine is also not the finished product for most of these guys; and if it is, they are likely DoA.

i thought when we drafted C.Washington that he would end up being a stud, due to him being an absolute physical freak. Some thought he could be "The" steal of the draft.
Washington was a 6th round draft pick though, the 188th pick overall. I think it's fair to say that he's done just as much as most 6th round picks do if not more. Some on here act as if he was overrated because of the combine and has been a bust.

My only point is that "measureables" don't always equate to good or bad play at the NFL level. C.Washington has been decent when healthy and certainly worth a late round pick. I wasn't trying to say that he wasn't. I like the guy almost as much as DavidL :-)

What happened to DavidL?
No one has been abusing either him or Cornwash on this forum. Maybe he misses that?

In the off-season he goes fishing with Cornwash. They are Friday night poker buddies too. No time for this messageboard in the off-season :-)
