Hey, Romo to the Texans is actually not a bad idea. Osweiler to the Bears? Pfft, that's stupid. But Houston is a gooD team except for their QB situation.

I like what Houston did with Ossweiler. They are a good team with a glaring need at QB, and they were aggressive and went after Ossweiler. I don't think Ossweiler was the right guy. Not sure if their scouts just are not that good, or whatever, but regardless of getting the wrong guy, I like how they approached it. But there are two parts to it. You have to see the problem and then act on it. And you have to get the right solution when you act on it. Kind of like the Bears. They saw Lovie had to go. They acted on it, but they brought in the wrong guy. Still better than doing nothing.
I want the Bears to take their best shot at QB. Hopefully Pace and our scouts are up to it. And I hope Fox SFU (which he won't) and just stays out of the way. That can't happen because they are not going to bring in a new QB without the HC going with it. I just want them to get it right. Lots riding on this. They should not have put themselves in a do or die situation. Bad planning and decision making along the way. Now they can't miss. Not an enviable position to be in.

I agree the move the Texans made to get Osweiler was worth the financial risk. They didn't have to spend the 2nd rounder to get him, and the chance of him developing into a good QB behind Gase and Manning was worth the shot. What, they didnvt have a better option and could have kept the status quo with Hoyer, which would have been worse.
Osweiler will probably float around for a bit as a backup due to his starter reps. But the beauty of that move was if it didn't work, they could just pull the 0 lug and move on.
I think Osweiler is just another exmaple that proves sitting behind a great qb doesn't mean you'll be a great qb. Guy actually played decent a few seasons ago while Manning was down. But there is a reason why Den went away from him in the playoffs.
Jimmy G might be a great qb, but it won't be because he got to watch a HoF'r play for a few years; and he has less experience then Osweiler.
What is insane is that I think there are enough teams that will be in for the shot at Jimmy that it won't just be a 2nd, + an contract that is an insane amount to pay for the risk.

It will be interesting to see if Garoppolo is Osweiler 2.0.
