This may be one of the best (and a more objective article) that I've read on the Bears QB situation. Unfortunately it is behind a pay wall at "The Athletic" so I can only post a brief excerpt here. Within the article it documents a number of metrics data that documents Trubisky's 2018 performance versus 2019.
I was surprised by what the numbers indicate.
Trubisky was in the upper half of the NFL quarterbacks in 2018 in almost every measurable stat, including 3rd in the entire NFL in QBR rating. Third in the NFL. In 2019 he fell to near-bottom of the NFL in most every one of these same categories. The 2018 12-win season was a product of a great defense, but the QB play wasn't anything as bad as what we saw in 2019.
I think the Athletic has a free trial period if you want to read the entire article (free trial LINK). It's in-depth regarding the QB options for Pace to bring in quality competition for Mitch. I found it interesting due to the fact it basically boils a lot of stuff down that we've been discussing regarding the QB situation and the real-world options available for Ryan Pace.

Fixing the quarterback: How far will the Bears go to find competition for Mitch Trubisky?
I filtered the results to include only quarterbacks who attempted at least 200 passes in 2018 and 2019. It left 33 quarterbacks in each season to consider for touchdown passes, passing air yards, air yards per completion, total completion percentage, total passer rating and big-pass plays (20-plus yards). I also added ESPN’s total QBR metric, which is based on a scale up to 100 and factors in running and more. Here’s where Trubisky ranks:

Using air attempt yards, I also looked for specific passer ratings on throws between 10-20 yards and 20-40 yards. I limited the results to quarterbacks with at least 50 attempts in each season. Here are those results:
