Trub is clown school bad (that 1st half was one of the worst I have ever seen) and Nagy takes away the few things he does do well by refusing to adjust his game plans.
So its a vicious cycle of failure.
Wow, this has to be one of the most deflating seasons I can remember given what the legit expectations were coming in. Bet there's a lot of pissed off players in that locker room.
Play out the string (we may end up 4-12) and get a QB this offseason. At this point, I think Trubisky should be looked upon as the #2 for the 2020 season until proven otherwise.
how many 3rd and longs does the defense give up before they catch flack?
this in no way absolves the 1st half OFF. but i'm sure it will be taken that way.
Eagles put together a clock-killing drive there at the end no doubt. Teams do that if they're good. They ran all over the packers too and did it at Lambeau. Only 2 of the 3rd down conversions weren't short yardage. Jeffery made a good catch on 1 and their TE beat us on another.
Ask yourself this, if the D had gotten a stop (which I agree they should have), do you think the O would have scored a 3rd TD? They've only scored 3 offensive TDs in a game one time this whole season.
It's really throwing the baby out with the bath water to complain about the last drive. You seem to forget that the D kept us in the game to make it so that the last drive actually mattered. TBH, Philly should have buried us long before that point. The O had negative yards well into the 3rd Q.

Has Mitch regressed? Yes. Did he overthrow his receivers a couple of times? Yes. Did he look scared and sometimes even clueless? Yes.
But is he really the one to blame? Honestly, no.
Say what you want about Mitch, but he cares about this team. And he tries to do the best he can.
Is it his fault when his receivers don’t get both feet in bounds? No.
Is it his fault when his RBs drop easy passes? No.
Is it his fault when the OL can't f*cking protect him? No.
The problem is Nagy.
He’s the one that refuses to adjust his damn play calling and insists in keeping Mitch in the pocket, even though he’s much more successful and comfortable stepping out of it and going deep. It’s definitely not Mitch calling all those stupid screen passes that result in negative yards. It’s Nagy, who still believes that running Little Tarik up the middle for no gain is a smart and fresh idea.
Not to mention, 9 penalties for 70 yards! That lack of discipline is 100% on him.
I know it’s not gonna happen, but at this point I wish they’d just fire Nagy and promote Pagano. After all, he’s got plenty of HC experience and put up decent numbers in Indy.

That has been my perspective since before the bye week. Not calling for him to be sacked. Just that his inexperience as a HC is showing and showing very badly. He needs to man up and admit his failures and start to improve.
Such a disappointing season... The lack of discipline has me give the deflated ball to Nagy this week. Trubisky was back up QB bad in the first half. He pull together a couple of plays in the second half but he continues to underwhelm. This could have been a strong season which makes it so difficult to watch.

Nagy has been completely awful this season, no argument there. He's stubborn as hell and his scheme is one that Trub has zero chance of running successfully. We have proved that game after game.
Nagy has already shown he's simply not going to do anything different, no matter what. He may mix it up a series or two but he's not going to change his overall strategy no matter how badly Mitch fucks it up. He's not doing to run out of the I with a lead blocker. He's not get Mitch moving (and running) on boots and roll-outs. He's not gonna quit the gimmicky screens, sweeps, and Cohen gadget stuff. He's not gonna play street ball, which is the only stuff Mitch does reasonably well.
As much as I want to kick him in the nuts, lets be real--They aren't gonna fire Nagy. Not with years left on his guaranteed-money contract and 1 season removed from COY. Since Nagy and Mitch mesh about as well as oil and water, that means only one thing for next year:
We need a new starting QB this offseason
I'm now past the point of "bringing in some competition" or holding out hope Trubisky will become a late-bloomer. Mitch & Matt DON'T WORK TOGETHER. They're Whitney Houston & Bobby Brown toxic as a pairing. Irreconcilable Differences, head straight to divorce.
That means Ryan Pace has to figure out how to sign Nick Foles or Teddy Bridgewater this offseason or the whole thing gets blown up and torn down starting January 2021.
It's not just Mitch, although he is part of it. I'm realizing that the talent level on offense isn't even near what I thought it would be this year. Actually in the 2nd half Mitch made some good plays. And other times he had his receivers drop passes that should have been big plays. The D disappeared at the worst possible time in this game too (it seems to be their way this year... they fold like a lawn chair at critical times in games). Stupid penalties have killed this team all year. Coaching? Yep, toss that one in the "losing factor bag" too.
It's not as simple as pointing at one guy here. The GM has whiffed too many times, the coaches (not just Nagy) have disappointed. The offense is really screwed though.
Oh, how I wish that our only problem was Mitchell Trubisky.
