Philly is using Howard effectively in both running game and passing. I guess they figured out that he can catch a football. I grant he was not as productive with Nagi's "scheme," but if he were here now, he'd still be contributing more than we are getting out of Davis. And if Montgomery goes down with an injury, you guys are going to wish we still had Howard.
They were saying on GMF this morning that the Bears defense alone will make us Super Bowl contenders. I think we just threw away a good player for practically nothing, and it could easily come back and bite us in the butt.
So we shouldn't have gotten something of value and replaced him with an equal player that could perform in this offense better for a scenario that may never occur. Got it. And no...he wouldn't be, because Monty would still be getting the work he's getting as would cohen.
I'm not gonna say who's better/worse, and I think it's obvious the OL is to blame for a number of issues on O, but I miss Howard. If we could, I would much rather have Mont and Howard over Mont and Davis.
The bottom-line is that this is an ex-Bears player. He's gone. Get over it. The team has moved on. Let's enjoy watching and support the guys we DO have on the roster. Why have angst over something we have zero control over?

I'm a fan of Jordan Howard. He's a good running back, and I know he will get paid as a veteran by some team out there.
But he wasn't a fit for Nagy's offense. I don't believe a coach should be forced to make a player work when they don't fit what he ideally wants out of his offense.
Nagy's offense ideal for is a Kareem Hunt type back minus the domestic violence. That's not Howard.
This trade was a win win for the Bears in that we will probably get a fifth rounder in 2020, and for Howard so he could go somewhere where his type of zone running style fits better so he gets paid.

BREAKING NEWS:
Sowell is back on the 53-man roster as of a few minutes ago. Rumor has it that he never leaves Halas Hall anymore when he gets cut. He has a small tent out back, a sleeping bag and lives out of his backpack. Virginia M. baked him cookies last night and brought 'em by the tent as a treat.

I LMAO'd at that one, JABF ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^.
Very funny. Sowell is like herpes....it never really goes away.

Halas Hall looks like a real peaceful place! Me like
This is not even close. Davis has 9 carries for 22 yards and and 2-yr. $6 million contract. We could have Howard on the team for less money, and he could produce more on the field with one leg is a cast..
From his bio...
Jordan Howard was acquired by the Eagles in a trade with the Bears during the 2019 offseason. The 24-year-old Pro Bowler was originally a 5th-round draft choice (150th overall) by Chicago in 2016 and is one of only three NFL RBs with 3,000+ rushing yards (3,370) since 2016, joining Ezekiel Elliott (4,048) and Todd Gurley (3,441). Howard and Gurley are the only NFL RBs with 9+ rushing TDs in each of the last two seasons.

According to overthecap.com, Davis got $3M guaranteed vs Howard who’s earning $2.025M this year. Is $975K really worth getting your panties in a bunch? As was said above, Howard still wouldn’t be getting many touches with Montgomery here so it’s a mostly a moot point.
