Anybody have Jordan on their fantasy team this week? He had a big game last night against the Packers. Helps us a lot even though he's gone. I said it was a mistake to trade him. We got Davis plus -- what was it -- a third-round draft choice or something? The difference having him was on display. Ball on the 1-yd. line, and Philly gave him the ball. He banged over the linebacker and scored. He also caught a pass out of the backfield and scored (but he doesn't fit into Nagy's' "scheme").. What did that Packers do when they got down on the one yard line at end of game? They tried twice to throw it and got intercepted. End of ballgame.

I always enjoy when one game builds a narrative. Maybe every player the Bears let go who has a good game we should start a thread about.
And if anyone thinks Howard catches the ball down field like Monty did they haven't been watching.
Remember when Deonte Thompson had that 100 yard game as a wr? Yeah that was awesome. And Iman signs back with the Chargers? Why did we ever let him go. And I see Bellamy is still dropping passes in Balt I believe.
Guy is 16th in yards bc he has a game more then everyone else, and even at that he is the 23rd rb in terms of attempts. After Sunday he won't be a top 32 attempt RB in rushes, and probably be a lucky to be a top 25 in yards. He had a great game, 1. And the Philly OL opened up gaping holes for him. See tweet above, he wasn't getting holes like that in Chicago, he wouldn't have played that well in Chicago.
But I'm glad Howard looked good and gashed GB last night all the same. He did more in Philly to help Chicago then he would have in Chicago. But in his prev 2 games, 11 atts 37 yards(3ypc) 1 td, 8 attempts 18 yards (2ypc) 0 td's. Yes he's obviously having a great year.....
Furthermore, Monty has 39 less yards on 3 less carries, but he also is averaging 3 more yards per game. So really, considering the def's they played and how bad the Chi OL has been, and the fact that he's on a cheaper contract for the next 4 years so he's also more cap friendly.
If Monty got Washington, Alt, before Lions and GB, rather then GB/Den/DC/Minny he's likely to have better stats then Howard outright; hard to tell though b/c again the Bears OL is really struggling.
The run-blocking for Howard last night was amazing. Some of those holes were huge. Howard is an excellent one cut RB and a horse getting short yardage when you need it. I loved having him here and he was one of my favorite Bears. He always gave it everything he had. But I do like Monty as being an upgrade.
My concern is not the RBs on the roster now. My concern is an OL that is struggling. I don't know what's wrong with Kyle Long, but something is really not right with him this year. He is not starter quality right now. He's getting manhandled. He is hurting the team.

Good grief......
And don't forget Bryce Callahan--still hasn't played a down for Denver

Um, Howard has a 4.7 yards per carry at Philly. That's damn good. The only reason he is not getting 100 YPG is that he is not getting 20+ carries. That is not a complaint, because Sanders (speed guy) is also playing well, and they are splitting the time. As for pass-catching, he is catching what's thrown to him. He was targeted 4 time and caught 3. The one missed was not his fault. As Aikman said during the broadcast, that could have been another big play for him if Wentz had gotten the ball to him faster instead of holding it too long.
You guys can say whatever you want, but it would not have cost too much to keep him, AND we got the worst of the trade. That is becoming clearer every week. If Montgomery can stay healthy, we don't even need Davis.

Our worry isn't Howard leaving.
Our worry is a lack of blocking.
I think Longs problem is this:
1. The injuries he had in the past finally caught up to him (that is my theory). 2. He is getting up there in age (in football years that is). 3. I think he did get hurt and won't be playing against the Vikings.
I'll be surprised that if he is a Bear next season.

LMAO....I'm starting to think David and MOTM are the same person! You can't be serious. You can't watch Monty play and watch Howard play and conclude that howard is better. Hell...if the Eagles thought Howard was so great they wouldn't have spent a 2nd round pick on Sanders...so save the one game narrative for someone who doesn't know anything about football.
