I think that when the dust settles, Fry will be our guy. It's going to be close between these two. They look pretty even to me. The Bears save a draft pick next year if they go with Fry and release Pineiro.
Based off my expert understanding of kicking a football, so basically nothing, It seems a win-win situation. I like that both men want it.

That is the bottom-line, it's a win-win situation. I absolutely love how Pace and Nagy have attacked the kicker issue this way. They brought in a bunch of guys to kick the tires on. They picked their top-2 guys to go head to head in camp. I even love the fact that each guy is "The Guy" on alternating days of practice... it is a bit like a game situation for them. I was at camp yesterday, and I've never seen anything quite like the fans reaction to this thing. It's like the kicker is "THE" main attraction when they trot on to kick this TC. Thundering applause from a huge crowd.
On a side note, I've been going to Bourbonnaise for TC for years now. I've never seen anything like THIS year's camp. The entire town is packed with Bears fans everywhere. The hotel we were saying at was virtually all Bears fans (and a lot of family guys with their kids). Yesterday it was pouring rain, yet the camp was packed with fans anyway. How cool is that?
ps, I'm heading back to camp on Friday... if anyone would like to meet up there just let me know.

That's what happens when your team has success. More people are willing to give up their own time to watch a team they like. We honestly haven't had success since 2010. It was a long dark tunnel and hopefully the light is finally here.
Not sure who wins, but as of today Eddie missed 2 kicks, so I'm guessing even if he has more leg, Fry can and will win if he's more accurate and showing he has enough leg also. Not sure this is figured out until the 3rd or 4th PS game though. I'm sure they will want to see both guys in PS games and at SF.

That is a great post, MOTM.
One other thing I noticed is that we have a coach who absolutely LOVES the Chicago Bears fans. He is always referencing the fans and thanking them. It isn't like he's "going through the motions" of "tolerating" them. The guy is always going out of his way to show the fans he values them... and he continually preaches this to his players - telling them that they play for the best fans in the NFL. I love that about him. And the fans are sure responding.

And if it is a super close finish, I think the tie breaker may go to Fry due to the fact we then keep the conditional draft pick that goes to the Raiders if Pineiro makes the roster. That won't matter if Pineiro is clearly better. The Bears will gladly part with the draft pick for a good kicker. But in a tie? I figure Fry wins with the draft pick tie breaker.
