FYI: Cam Meredith has been released by the Saints. Sucks for him that he hasn't been able to heal and recover, but it's now obvious why the Bears did what they did, and might have done more then they should have w/the tender they gave him.
I disagreed with Pace at the time but he was right and I was wrong. I really feel bad for Cam--he was a up-and-coming hardworking UDFA guy with talent who, just as he was about to be set up for a nice contract, had a career-ending injury on a cheap shot in a meaningless preseason game. That plain sucks. I was rooting for him to be a "find" for the Bears for years to come.
Another reason to keep your starters out of PS. Do you think that Mack is ready for week 1?
Seriously, what if Mack blew out a knee tripping over that guy.
Then sadly his knee was ready to blow regardless where. The entire def was amped up the last few days. That's another thing to keep in mind when discussing the O and their success/fails. This is the def they are playing against every day.

Nagy and sports media people have pointed this out. It is a huge benefit for our offense to be going up against a GREAT defense. This is so good for the offense when they face opposing defenses. They have been battle hardened and prepared by going against our defense. Frankly they need this if we are going to win a championship... it's like that Bible verse: "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another" (Proverbs 27:17).
LOL, you know it's a season of destiny when we're quoting the Bible regarding this year's Bears :-)
btw, Hub on 670 said Trubs hasn't looked that bad; a lot of it is that the Def is just that damn good. Plenty to like plenty of growth for a young qb still to come.
Said both Kickers have looked really good in camp, but said Eddy P. looks special, said that leg looks special. Said both guys could end up pretty good though.
Said Bears are going to have to cut 5-6 guys that will get cut here will go on w/other teams and have good careers. Said 4-5 draft picks and 4-5 UDFA's could make this team.
Coward and Bars are going to make the team. Said Bar could probably play anywhere on the line except for OC.
Said Kevin Tolliver looks really good, Bush and Shelly looked really good. In general the secondary looks really good, 13 guys that are interesting but will only keep 10. Mentioned Skrines pick yesterday was something you don't see CB's make.

Quoting the bible or the Blues Brothers?
Haha, the scene they keep showing here with the cops turning down the wet street on the way to the mall? I saw that getting filmed. They used actual Park Ridge police in the car, but they had to stop filming and have the stunt crew give driving lessons to the police cuz they couldn't make the turn. That poor bush in the median got ran over about 10 times.

Yeah was reading WCG yesterday and one of their camp observers (think it was Ken Mitchell) was talking about his observations so far on, particularly on Trub.
Basically said his mechanics, footwork, and reads are clearly much improved a year ago. His throws on short-to-medium range balls were crisp and accurate. On the downside, said that Mitch still is stuggling with timing and consistency on the deep ball which is something to keep an eye on.
He also went out of his way to praise the talent, skill, energy, and "new wrinkles" on D and said that the defensive unit Trub is practicing against is the best he will face all year.
FWIW
It's one guy's opinion but I tend to concur on paper, even without the benefit of seeing them in camp. Barring major injuries, this Bears D is freakin' fierce, gentlemen. This is an elite unit and I can't think of one regular season opponent we will play this year whose D is better or even as good as the one Mitch is practicing against every day. We should keep that in mind if/when we hear about the O having difficulty. They're facing a very high level of competition.
