Only a few of us watched the Bears prior to Ditka coming here. Specifically Jim Dooley and Abe Gibron. Effing brutal. There is only one coach with a poorer W-L percentage than John Fox (.292) and that is Abe Gibron (.274). And Dooley (.357) was worse than Trestman (.404). Source

And I watched them all.
I never saw a Dooley team, so I can't comment on him (I would put him above Jarhead based on W-L). Also, I was young during the Gibron fiasco, so my memory has faded there. My rank is more than just won/loss, It's how the team looked and how the coach looked to my eyes during the games.

Dooley was terrible. His teams had the single worst one year record in Bear history (1969 1-13 or .071%). It was on Dooley's watch (in 1969) that we wasted Gale Sayers with the three headed monster at QB (Jack Concannon, Bobby Douglass and Virgil Carter). It was Sayer's last full season as a Bear. He was done after that. What a waste of a fine RB.
With our current crop of UDFAs, I think out IR/PUP will be very creatively used.
Me too. Think I said this shortly after the draft, but yeah the Bears now have an embarrassment of riches at WR. What a difference from a few years ago when we had Inman, Bellamy, and Wheaton.
They're gonna have to get creative and I think Hall and the ND OL are gonna end up getting the injury redshirt this year somehow. EHall is not going to survive an entire season on the PS without getting poached. He may not even clear waivers to get there in the first place.
When was the last time we were able to say we had riches at WR?! Think about that!! Amazing

Well the last time we said it was when we had Alshon, Jeffery, and Bennet at TE along w/Forte; before that Mushin and Berrian and Bradley along w/Clark. Good Lord, this is a case study in not knowing what you don't know
