before injury he was boss. accurate from distance. looks like edinger to me
Edinger had a puss leg.
Pineiro's leg is one of the biggest in the league. I mentioned wanting him last year even after signing Parkey, but was told it would be dumb because we just signed a good kicker.
Pineiro was one of my favorite kickers in the 2018 draft, so getting him for a future 7th is a good move. He was placed on the IR with a groin injury, though I wonder how serious it was - NFL teams keep borderline players on the IR with minor injuries that they could play through all the time, so I would not assume it was a serious injury.

Looks like he missed the entire 2018 season due to a groin injury suffered in training camp. I can't find any hard medical details but that is way more that your typical soft tissue groin pull. Even a really severe goin pull usually allows someone to come back to playing in 2 or 3 months.
LINK Pineiro started off playing soccer, he was a four-time All-Dade County pick in soccer and signed with Florida Atlantic on a scholarship. [2] Despite having grown up only playing soccer, he joined the Miami Sunset Senior High football team in his senior season, handling extra points and kickoffs. [2] His dad encouraged him to try on football cleats and pads but with no football scholarship, Pineiro went on to play soccer for a small junior college, ASA College. In the summer of 2015 he went to an open kicking combine at the University of Alabama. Out of hundreds of kickers, Alabama coach Nick Saban narrowed his scholarship offers to Chris Salek and Pineiro. [3] Pineiro verbally committed to Alabama but later tried out for Florida and ultimately that was where he chose to play.
During his final year of college Pinerio had the best field goal percentage in the nation, 94.4% (17-for-18).[1] He finished his career with an 88.4% (38-for-43) field goal conversion rate, which ranks first in UF history (min. 35 attempts) as he passed Bobby Raymond (87.8%, 43-of-49, 1983-84. His 38 made field goals place him sixth all-time in Florida history. He also connected on 16 straight field goals to close the 2017 season, which tied Jeff Chandler (2001) for the second longest streak in program history. [1] He played for the Gators during the 2016 and 2017 seasons.[4]
Overview Pineiro has just two seasons of collegiate kicking, but his consistency and accuracy from 50-plus yards will immediately open NFL eyes. Pineiro's ability to handle kickoff duties and bang touchbacks only strengthen his cause.
Strengths Nation's most accurate kicker in 2017 making 17 of 18 for 94.4 percent Never missed a field goal after a miss in Week 1 Has made all five of his field goal attempts from 50-plus Has good leg speed through his target Offers quality kickoff option drilling 75 percent of his career kickoffs for touchbacks Overall accuracy is a big plus Hit 91 percent of his kicks from 40 and in over his two seasons Seems genuinely unfazed by pressure kicks
Weaknesses Mechanics are noisy Aggressive plant foot dislodges with an exaggerated hop almost immediately after initial impact Despite accuracy from 50-plus yards, doesn't have as powerful a field goal leg as expected Trajectory can be slightly inconsistent Scouts say he doesn't have much grasp of the game
