looking for cutbacks is how Cohen made plays last year. the production in college offsets somewhat the agility/ speed combine #s. this is a guy you work out if you are interested so you can medical him and see if he's got the speed to play his style in the pros.

After watching video of Singletary's 2018 season play it looked to me like he benefited by great blocking that opened holes that he just isn't going to see at the NFL level. He had great play against suspect defenses (like who the heck is Bethune-Cookman college?) and against the better defenses he didn't have the big numbers.
He sure didn't look like he had a 2nd gear to me. In fact, he looks a bit slow. To his credit he is great waiting for his blockers to open up lanes and seems like a smart RB that way. But again, he's going to be facing much more talented defenders without the aid of that great blocking he had at Florida-Atlantic. I really question if he'd be worth a draft pick by the Bears. I really do.

I really haven't looked at a lot of RB prospects this offseason but the little I have seen of this kid Darrell Henderson (Memphis) has been interesting. About 5'8" and 210. Very solid build, very low center of gravity. Quick, good in the passing game, nice vision, excellent cutback runner. I didn't see any videos with him pass blocking.
We'll see what happens with RB (and everything else) in a couple of weeks.

I would love to see Darrell Henderson in a Bears uniform. He sounds like a guy who is dangerous now, but also has a higher ceiling yet to hit. Now this guy has a 2nd gear (and after burners to smoke defenders).

It was nice to see he did it against UCF, but most of that highlight was guys that couldn't ride the bench on a quality program. I think the biggest question is will he even be there when the Bears pick at 3. And as nice as that was, I hope Pace isn't trading up to get him, or anyone.
Darrell Henderson? Yup, he's on my list too, and even higher than Singletary:
#3 Darrell Henderson, Memphis
I wasn't sure why this Memphis HB was ranked so high by my formula compared to how others have ranked him. One thing jumped out to me immediately that made my eyes bulge - Henderson had 8 games where he went over 160 yards rushing!! That's insane! On tape, Henderson looked like a boom-or-bust HB - his O-line provided some big holes, and Henderson was able to crank up that 4.49 '40 speed to take several long carries to the house. While Henderson isn't an especially strong HB, he was able to avoid tackles and quick burst away from defenders that might catch up to a slower HB. There were a handful of plays where I thought Henderson took a bad cut. Henderson looked good on short yardage plays, and he did a good job at bouncing off defenders when they came in to make a hit. He also has great acceleration - he just seemed to explode, even after slowing down to dodge a tackler.
Henderson set the all-time Memphis rushing record with 1909 yards in one season with 8.9 YPC and 22 TDs. On tape, it seems like a good portion of that is due to Memphis' great blocking and poor competition. Henderson has a knack for ripping off large gains for long TDs, and he's serviceable on 3rd downs. I'm not sure I see him taking over as a 3 down HB in the NFL, but he's certainly worthy of being used heavily in a HB rotation.
Henderson looks like a good fit for Nagy's offense. He's worth a 3rd-4th rounder.
Oh, and I have a highlight for each of those HBs, so I'll throw them in spoiler tags:

Here are some highlights for Tony Pollard. I've seen him listed as a receiver in some places, but he plays running back:
And here is his game against UCF:
He's not a guy I'd draft in the third round, but when looking at what type of back would fit this system he sure seems to check a lot of boxes. He runs good routes, can catch, is a threat in the return game, has great balance, shows a willingness to block and is a guy who Nagy could do a lot of things with. Talk about not having to sub to run different packages and he's a guy you can do it with.

I'm hoping what Ric points out about Henderson affects the overall assessment of him by the rest of the league. If he is there when we pick in the 3rd round, I'd be really tempted. If he is there when we pick in the 4th, I'd probably run to the podium. But IMO he will be long gone by the time we pick in the 4th.
