LOL at some of the Bears fans. We now have a head coach who can put a competitive modern NFL team on the field on game day and some fans are pissed with his roster moves. I'm grateful we are moving on from the John Fox offenses and if Matt Nagy doesn't see Howard as the best fit in his offense as we move forward, then I trust his judgment.
Nothing against Howard. But this IS a new offense being built here. Frankly I believe it is going to be light-years better than the John Fox offenses. Instead of the old 100% predictable plays - now we will have an exciting multi-dimensional offense loaded with speed that can exploit defenses in countless ways.
Fact, every year Mike Davis has gotten better, Howard has in fact regressed; and w/a team that was improving every year. Fact Howards worst year was the Bears best Offensive year w/him on the team and their best record. Fact apparently no team agrees that Howard is that special.
Well, it’s rather impossible not to improve on the 58 yards on the ground and 38 through the air he had in his rookie season. Oh wait! He totally accomplished that feat with 50 and 25 his second year.
Don’t need to prove that statement any more ridiculous.
oppertunities matter. Notice how you didn't say a peep about howard...

Fact is this move is best for Chicago and Howard. Howard was going to struggle like he did last year and that only hurts him going into a contract year. He now has a shot to be added to a Philly team that will ask him to fill Blounts role. He should be able to do that; although he's still not going to get 25-30 carries regularly

I totally agree, Ric. It's better for Howard too.
And I keep coming back to the fact that Bears fans wanted a vibrant multi-dimensional offense. Bears hired Nagy to do that. Now we are pissing and moaning that Nagy wants certain type players to run his offense. Hell, you can't have it both ways. If we wanted a John Fox offense then we should have kept John Fox. If we want something better/new then we need to let Nagy do his thing here. Simple as that.
Heartbroken. Howard was one of my favorite Bears. Y’all can disagree, but I hate this trade. I’m not saying that as a fan of Howard, I’m saying that as a Bears fan. Davis is shit compared to Howard. I guess one semi successful year and now Nagy and Pace think they are the Pats and can plug anyone in there. I think they find out they’re terribly wrong.

I understand why you feel this way and I was sad to see him go too. However, I don't think "replacing Howard" is gonna be all that tough.
It isn't Davis vs Howard. Its going to be Davis + Patterson + a draft pick. Yeah I think replacing those 900 yards won'e be all that difficult. Keep in mind that Howard was pretty much a non-factor in the offense until about week 12 last year.

I hope Nall is part of the plan to replace him. I like his running style a lot. I’d honestly be fine if we used our picks to restock the DBs, EDGE, OL and K.
