It's also the same thing you will say every time he drops a pass.
Great return man, not so great receiver
Luckily he'll be used more as a RB mostly and a WR occasionally.
Yeah, I agree. Cord was a failed 1st round crappy "WR" pick in Minnesota then, once again, Bellicheck tweaked the formula and showed how to squeeze max production out of him.
I'm glad we at deep at WR this season cuz Patterson really isn't much of one. He's basically a return specialist who can carry the ball a little and run a few (simple) routes as a wideout. I'm not expecting much from him in the passing game.

He has a decent vertical jump as I saw in the high pointing drills. Actually better than any of the WRs or TEs. At least on Monday.

The guy is an elite athlete no doubt. He was drafted 1st round, like Kevin White, largely based on this. But he never lived up to his potential as a WR in Minnesota and was let go.
Its been widely reported, and I mean going back years, that he's not much of a route runner, isn't particularly the brightest bulb, and he doesn't have great hands. Much like Devin Hester, he's a guy who's in his element as a returner and selective O player (~5 touches/targets) than a feature weapon. Robinson, Miller, Gabriel, and probably even Wims are all better WRs than he is.
I would expect him to be the Bears #4 WR at best this season in terms or recs/yards.

On offense Nagy may have a set of gadget plays where he can help the team too. Nagy is so good keeping teams guessing, so he may be a decoy guy at times too. Just another weapon that can make it tough for defenses to account for. I half expect Nagy and his staff to have a few surprises for Green Bay in that first game. In fact, you know he will.
In 2016, the Saints tried to claim QB Connor Shaw off waivers, but they accidentally included the other 31 teams on the email. The Bears, who were ahead in the waiver list, claimed him instead.

And he did such a great job for us I didn't even remember him!
On August 30, 2016, Shaw was placed on injured reserve for a broken leg sustained in preseason.
On March 4, 2017, Shaw signed a one-year extension with the Bears. On May 30, 2017, he was waived by the Bears, becoming a free agent only to have the Bears rescind the waiver on the same day following an injury to Mark Sanchez. He suffered a hamstring injury during a preseason game against the Cleveland Browns on August 31. He was waived/injured on September 2 and placed on injured reserve on September 4, 2017. He was released on September 8, 2017.
Bettors have spoken: The Chicago Bears and the Cleveland Browns -- and their young quarterbacks -- are public darlings at Las Vegas sportsbooks.
There are more bets on the Bears to win the Super Bowl than there are on any other team at multiple sportsbooks. The Browns are right behind the Bears in Super Bowl bets.
"It's been kind of overwhelming, the support [for the Bears]," said Alan Berg, the senior oddsmaker for Caesars Sportsbook. "Every time the Bears go to the playoffs, the following year, the money just pours in. Everybody gets optimistic."
The Bears are 9-1 to win the Super Bowl at Caesars, the fourth-best odds behind the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs, who are co-favorites at 7-1, and the New Orleans Saints at 17-2. The Browns are 10-1.
Those five -- the Patriots, Chiefs, Saints, Bears and Browns -- are the only teams that have already attracted more than $1 million in Super Bowl bets at MGM sportsbooks in Nevada.
