From what I read about him. Most seem to think he his awful?
I understand not overpaying for average talent but to have is replacement be this bad?
I don't know if he's as bad as he's played the last few seasons. He was a top nickel a few seasons back, but he's fallen off since the Jets pass rush fell off.
Looks like he took on a different roll in NJ. all of a sudden he's getting sacks and fumbles instead of int's. Similar tackles but less assists also. My concern is in him playing 14, 11 and 14 games; and he's 29 over 27. His ceiling is what it is at this point, while Bryce is likely still peaking.
All in all I'l believe in Pace until otherwise. If Bryce gets something more then 8mil guaranteed and 6.25 average then it's probably a good choice. If he plays best w/a monster pass rush, then maybe we get the better end of this deal w/what he was in Cleveland.
Unlike the Davis signing, I don't like this one. Skrine was pretty bad with the Jets, so hopefully he'll get coached up by Pagano or this is going to be a massive downgrade compared to Callahan. Speaking of which, I've heard nothing about where Bryce is going to land...

I don’t know anything about Skrine but here’s a Twitter thread that makes some interesting points about him. This guy seems to like the signing.
