I hope Bellamy is back. He has become a decent role player who makes the team better. I never thought I'd say that, but he has improved his value to this team. It probably wouldn't cost that much to keep him.
Bellamy is OK but nothing special. My idea is that we should let some of these guys go, and then bundle the money to create enough cap space to get a safety who is better than Amos or else another corner. This is the area where we need an upgrade. The front 7 on D is very solid. Another option is to let Long go.
The guy just can't stay healthy, and he's not getting any younger.

This is why I posted that Long might not be with us next year. Cutting Long and Sims might give us enough to sign both Amos and Callahan and have some change left to go after some cheaper guys.

I would let them all go to get Earl Thomas, but it seems he is probably going to 49ers or Cowgirls.
Using the "availability is the best ability" theory...what is the "availability" of good nickel cornerbacks on the market? Meaning, if we pass on Callahan, what is the likelihood of us signing someone as good or better? Now do that same exercise for Amos.
I'm not disagreeing with you that it would be much harder to find someone of Callahan skill set compared to Amos. I just don't want us throwing away big money for someone who can't stay healthy. Similar to Kyle Long.
I was in the "sign Callahan over Amos camp" for sure but I've come to see both sides.
Amos is younger Amos has been way more durable Amos is likely to be way cheaper
Of course, I'd like to keep both but there's legit arguments on both sides for keeping either one if one only is possible.

What exactly makes you think you can predict that either way? The dude broke his foot...it's not like he's got a never ending string of soft tissue injuries on his resume. Further, slot corners haven't historically broken the bank.

Well...Eric Reid just signed a $23 million dollar deal. Amos will almost certainly demand more than that, so I think we all should start getting comfy with the fact he won't be back unless he's franchised. There are several good safeties available this off season though.
This will have a huge impact on Callahan's resigning
So that's roughly $8.7m AAV which is about where we thought Callahan would fall. As much as I like Bryce, I'd be tempted to let him walk and re-sign Amos instead who's younger, cheaper, and less injury-prone.
