as they were lining up for the kick he posted something about Parkey being the worst kicker, or how many he had missed. stuff you don't say as a fan when the player on your team is about to do something for the win. basic manners man. super jinxy. And agian, per the post game, the kick was partially blocked.
Excuses Parkey missed it. That block was about next to nothing. Before something something brabbl brabbl comes, a good Kicker can kick high enough and don't hit goalposts for the 617746x time this season.
did you listen to the post game w/big cat/olin and hub? they were killing him the entire time; until the last few min's when video came out and it showed it was blocked and they said, they needed to go back and watch to see why it happened. Don't like it,take it up w/the 2 former nfl stars, and guy that's been covering the nfl for forever.
I don't think he was. But listening to the post game on 670 a few things they kept hitting on, some i agree, some i don't.
they didn't use howard enough, that he was runing well early. I think the reason they went away was b/c he wasn't running well early and was creating 2nd and long and making it hard to get to 3rd and short.
They also mentioned that losing Burton so late in the weak probably hurt b/c all week he was the one taking snaps and preparing for the game, so the other guys weren't getting as prepped as needed.
Also lastly, they just confirmed that Parkey's final kick was blocked, which they said means they need to go back and look and see what all happened, was the snap bad, was the hold bad, did the ol get pushed back? A lot of reasons that a kick gets blocked some could be the kicker not getting the kick up, but it could also be a lot of other issues.
I think losing Burton hurt the worst. Also, the Bears need to get an RB that doesn't get tripped up to easy.
Also, as for Parkey, I did see pictures of his kick being blocked. I think last night the total inexperience of Bears not being in the playoffs hurt the team more. Now they have it and they improve some minor areas of the team.
I didn't realize until just now that the kick was blocked/deflected. I will put away the tar and feathers now :-)
I'd still like to see the team upgrade the kicker though.
Hey whatever he did in the past, and apparently he was pretty good before he got here, he wasnt good here. Soldier Field b/c of the wind has always been bad on kickers, need a guy w/a strong leg to be here. Parkey isn't it. So time to bring in competition and see if you cannot upgrade the position.
Cannot go vet though, Parkey's cap is already high for that position, so you cannot compound it w/another vet contract. Need to go UDFA rookie, cannot draft one w/the already limited picks the Bears have. Bring in a handful, have a legit open competition and figure out the kicker position once and for all, this has been Pace's bugaboo since he got here, time to solve it.
Put your Parkey hate away lol that ball got tipped, and that DOES matter... Parkey was the one of the reasons they were still in the game.
I'm blaming the guy who only managed to get Cohen 1 rushing attempt....ONE!!! Gabriel had more rushes than Cohen smh or the defense who let the Eagles stroll down and score in crunch time.

Shaheen and BB didn't really stand out at all, and weren't the threat on the field that Burton was, so it definitely hurt.
I'm still going w/Howard had a hammy this year, like Forte did his 2nd year. He looked off all year, no power, no explosition and went down like Greg Olsen did while he was a Bear; way to easy. Cannot be a big powerback and drop that easy over an arm tackle or a guy snagging your ankle. And it was the reason they went away from the running backs, they were getting tackled for little to no yar or yac. Cohen had a shit game also. Philly knew how to slow down this team, and force them to do what they didn't want to, which was put the game on Mitch. When the Bears finally he did shined though. Hopefully it gives Nagy more faith in him next year.
It was the primary reason I didn't want to see the Eagles in the playoffs their experience and faith in how Foles plays made them very dangerous. And he played pretty well also, doing what GB did in the 2nd half week 1, got rid of the ball really quick before the rush could even have a shot, throwing 50-50 balls to his wr's who have a knack for coming down w/them. Jeffery/Ertz/Tate all had good games and messed w/the Bears DB's.
When the Eagles OFF started their last drive my wife said: "They won't stop them and its coming down to the kicker." Despite everything the DEF did prior to this game and during this game, watching them let the Eagles march right down the field was painful. AN elite DEF sucks it up one more time, makes a stop, gets a pick, tackles..anything except letting a team use up 4 minutes of a 5 minute clock to score the winning TD. That was so frustrating to watch. I need to chkec that final drive again just to check on positioning, pass rush, schemes...terrible job by the defense.
Parkey should have made the kick, and it should have never come down to that.

This pretty much sums up the entire game.
And honestly, the O only scored 1 TD, need more from them then that. Hard to put all the blame on the kicker that had been 3-3(really 4-4) up to that point and was the only reason that the game was even in reach. The O didn't put it in the endzone enough. If O scores 2-3 TD's, then you aren't worrying about the K at the end, and the def giving up 1 drive doesn't matter.

I'm going to go back and do the slow watch of the game off my DVR today or tomorrow. There are always a lot of factor that enter in to this kind of loss. If a RB makes a different choice while running a play. If a receiver makes extra effort and gets a bit better separation or gets a couple of more yards and a first down. If Trubisky recognized a coverage faster/better. If Nagy and his staff recognized a defensive coverage faster. Could Fangio have called the defense on the last TD drive a little different. Maybe the kicking team could have blocked a little better on the last kick. Etc, etc.
I'm not going to dump on the defense as the offense could have hung on to the ball a bit longer a couple of times maybe the defense would have had more in the tank late in the 4th quarter. But maybe you are right and they could have found some inner reserve to draw on.
But my point is this was truly a team loss. A terribly painful loss because we all had come the really believe in this team (myself included). Hopefully it really motivates everyone next year.

100% agree. These are things I need to rewatch for:
(1) I thought the WRs/TEs had a had time getting open, seems the Eagles were willing to let Mitch throw deep and played a tight coverage. Want to check where the Eagles played their safeties. (2) Want to see how the O-line did. Seems Mitch didn't have a lot of time and with the WRs not getting open..... (3) Why, for the love of Pete, why does it always seem like the Bears can't cover any WR that is within 6-10 yards of the LOS? Is that Fangio thing? CB thing? What? (4) Count the rushers on that last drive, I know I saw one 3rd and long that Fangio only sent three guys. THREE!!! Foles had about 45 seconds to sit there and wait for someone to run a route. Hell, my 50 year old white butt could have gotten open in that time.
It was a complete failure across the board. The OFF wasn't executing, the DEF choked when it mattered, and Parkey was true to form.
And anyone making death threats on twitter to Parkey needs to be arrested and if they are season ticket owners have them revoked. Just stupid.
