And if we take care of business next week (and the Eagles win), we don't have to worry about it.
Then you have to worry about he Eagles.
There will always be anther team to worry about. But when possible you have to drive a nail through the heart of your divisional opponents. Hopefully get to the point where in the back of their minds they dread playing you.
As a Vikings fan, I think you guys would want to avoid the Foles-led Eagles because they just have some sort of magic to them when Foles is playing. I don't think you want to face the reigning Super Bowl MVP when he's hot, though being at Soldier Field could cool him down.
They were talking about this on GMF this morning. Kay Adams (huge Bears fan) says she does not want to play the Eagles. If Eagles gives us the best chance to LOSE the first playoff game, then give me the Vikings. Once the Rams game is out of hand, I don’t mind sitting the starters. Think BIG PICTURE. If the Rams are winning easily, Nagy will rest starters.

David, I think you are making a lot of assumptions that may or may not end up being true, like the Vikings will be an easier opponent than the Eagles. If we match up that well against the Vikings, we should beat them easily on Sunday. If we will struggle the beat the Vikings on Sunday, maybe they can beat us the next week.
I think we can beat the Vikings and then deal with whoever we face the next week. Cousins has a terrible record against teams with a winning record (4-24). Personally I do not think we will go much further than the 1st round of the playoffs (if we get past the first round).
If we get to the playoffs at 12-4 and win a game, I will be ecstatic. We have already way overachieved all our expectations. Don't take things to absurd extremes. And yes, I am thinking BIG PICTURE. If we rest our starters on Sunday and lose to the Vikings, what do you think Zimmer will do? Do you expect him to keep his #1s in for the rest of the game? Then what advantage do we have the next week?
We need to get to a level where we beat the team that we draw in the playoffs, regardless of who they are. We started big boy football against the 49ers last week and I was encouraged on how well Trubisky played. But if he makes a couple or three of his bone head plays, we will lose in the playoffs, regardless of who we play. The Vikings have a really stout defense as do the Eagles. To be honest if Trubusky plays an error free game we can beat both, if he screws up we likely lose to both.

============ This is a must-win game for the Vikings. Zimmer will play his starters for as long as it takes to GUARANTEE a win. Unless it is a blowout, that means they will be playing most of the game.
I agree that all these games, especially road games, depend on Trubisky playing at least decently. Against Vikings, I expect Bears to lose on Sunday but win at Soldier Field. After that, I'm sure we will be underdogs on road against Rams or Saints.
The wildcard in this is the definite possibility that the Seahawks win a game or two. Don't count them out. Bears vs. Seattle for NFC title at Solider Field. That is my dream scenario. That would be crazy. I live out here in Seahawks territory. I will put on my #54 Urlacher jersey and walk around downtown!

If the Vikes are up by > 1 TD and we pull our starters, why would he keep his starters in? He can always put them back in if need be. This is what you are missing. Outside of the home field (which would already be guaranteed), I really do not see the upside for us. All is does is guarantee we lose a game.

Why be worried about the Eagles? There's a reason Foles has been a backup. Fitzpatrick was a stud for a few games too and then came crashing back to earth. I'm not worried about him. Their running game is not very impressive. The team was a disaster for most of the season.

Foles works for that team more then Wentz does that's why. He's not the better qb, but his willingness to use Jeffery for 50-50 balls spreads the def where Wentz allows the def to creep up and compact. Not a great qb, but in that system he fits nicely, he helped them get to and win a SB last year and in 5 weeks he matched their win total w/Wentz and put them in a position to make another playoff run. Beware the hot team at the end of the year.
Sea is another team to worry about. that team knows how to play in the playoffs.
Minny's biggest worry is having to play them 3 times this year, and 2 close together. But I'm not worried about Cousins as much as I would worry about Foles and he's their starter. Cousins and Alex Smith and Wentz all seem to be the same player, unwilling ot push the ball downfield unless it's wide open, that makes them easier to defend and shut down over long drives. Give me Minny over 2 QB's that have helped their team win SB's.

That's the way I see it too. Any team we play will be a handful. And you are spot on, regarding a player being a good fit for a system. A guy like Foles is not a great QB. But he has proven that he is able to fit in that system and be good enough to help them win a super bowl. He is a guy to be respected within that system. He gets it done. Proven to be good on the biggest and greatest stage in the NFL. He performed well enough last year to be the MVP at the Big Dance. Yep, I'd respect that guy over Cousins. Any day.
