The DEF, why isn't that an option? OFF scored 28 points, Nagy schemed to 28 points on OFF. Fangio and his DEF screwed the pooch. BrockO has now beat Fangio twice. Fangio walks home from Miami.
The defense folded like a lawn chair. Gave up 31 points to their backup QB Brock Osweiler and a patched up OL of theirs with Dowell Loggains the opposing OC. The O had some key turnovers that hurt us (Trubisky & Howard). I feel like Nagy is still learning and making some mistakes along the way. Obviously Trubisky is too.
Mitch doesn't throw the red zone pick, Bears win
Howard doesn't fumble, Bears win.
Someone decides to actually tackle Wilson, Bears win
kicker hits the FG, Bears win
I thought Nagy coached well, even in overtime. FG goes through he aren't even talking about him. Would I have thrown on the third down? Maybe, maybe not. Howard was gashing them at that point. Maybe run a different play than right between Whitehair and Long at that point.
Fangio is the one I can't explain away. Again, I think his DBs are playing too far off the ball. I don't know the calls, I don't know the schemes but getting the ball out quick negates the pass rush. But if you don't play tighter on the receivers, its like me and my dad playing catch in the street. BrockO didn't thrown anything long, but lets still give 5+ yard cushions every time. BrockO looked like Rogers out there a few times, snap, drop, throw when his back foot hits the ground. And with the cushion the receivers were getting, its a catch every time. Add in being afraid to tackle Wilson and that's 2 TDs that didn't have to happen.
Yes they forced 3 turnovers, but they gave up 31 POINTS TO FLIPPING BROCK-O AND THE 28TH RANKED OFF!! I'm serious, Fangio walks home.
Just saw this:
