That is sooo much better than crying "We'll never have our own Tom Brady!" and then self-flagellating with a razor-tipped Cat 'O Nine Tails whip and wearing nipple clamps*.
Really when you think about it, Trubisky is making very few mental mistakes. Considering his experience level at this point I find that extremely encouraging. He has the physical attributes. If T has the mental gears to get it done, then we've got our franchise QB. But it's going to take some patience while he gets more experience here. There is no shortcut to game rep experience. Think about it. We are not seeing the 4 and 5 int meltdowns we saw with Jay Cutler. Instead, our losses this year have been due to a lot of contributing factors. It's not the QB position killing us now.

Plus with the RPO component I really like that he has wheels to take off on planned or unplanned runs.
Today he looked pretty wild at times missing badly on some throws. It is weird because some throws have amazing accuracy and then some throws are not even close to being on target. Is that a mechanics thing?
I'm watching the KC game right now. Mahomes is incredible. I think he will be the next generation of Brady/Rodgers level talent. I love watching Andy Reid in these games sitting down after series and doing 1-on-1 tutoring of Mahomes. Ha, while I'm typing this he just threw another TD... 45 points now after that throw.
KC was lucky to get him at #10 of the draft. Powerful, accurate and a football IQ that looks to be off-the-charts.
Trubisky excites me on one play then frustrates the hell out of me on the next. He has a strong arm and is reasonably accurate on short and medium distance passes. He moves well out of the pocket and can throw on the run. He can also run it himself for the first down (but he needs to learn how to slide or he’s going to end up on the sidelines).
On the negative side, he sometimes does not see open receivers. The throws into coverage — could have easily had two more INTs against the Pats. And he is not accurate on long passes. He usually overthrows or under-throws the receiver. The one to Miller that was intercepted should have been a TD if he didn’t under-throw. Miller had the defender beaten by 2 or 3 steps, but had to stop and wait for the ball. By then, the defender caught up and had the inside position when they jumped for the ball. I thought that was a major turning point in the game. Instead of tying the game at 31, it was followed by a long drive by the Pats to open a 14-pt. lead. I am starting to think that his long passes that connect are due more to luck than great touch — like me sinking a 20-ft. putt!
Some of these passes that Mitch is off target on now, will be completions next season. They are passes he does need to hit, and he will. And at that point he will be an incredible franchise QB.
